It's true. After putting on a different sculpt and seeing just how vastly much it improves the figure, there really is no going back to the stock sculpt. I admit, a few days ago I was seriously contemplating going back to it and came THIS close to doing it, but in the end, I just couldn't do it. Putting TWS Civvy Steve sculpt on it really made this one of my top Cap figures and rekindled my like for this figure, which I was glad because I really like the suit in the film.
I noticed you mentioned a couple of posts back about the pants. It's funny, because in addition to the disproportionate sculpt, there was something else about it that seemed a little "off". It was as if the upper torso was a bit too large for the legs and then you mentioned how tight the pants were on the production figure in comparison to the prototype, and that was precisely it. I know you described a remedy for this, but I don't have the you know what to do anything like that to my figures, even if it means making them look slightly better.
Unless I feel something is just an utter eye sore, I have the propensity to like leaving my figures stock. Not sure exactly why, but it just gives me the feeling that they still are as the day I opened them from the packaging.
lol, glad you caught that. I ended up editing and deleting that comment cause the discussion was the head and I didn't want to get out of topic.
But I mentioned it awhile back that basically, I feel two things were off when it went to final production.
One the head shrank, and the other is the tailoring of the pants got tight.
Lol, guess I'll re-post my original comment about the pants.
Here's a pic of the proto, it appears the head is the same size as the AOU head. Also, You can see that the proto had loose fitting pants.
But the pants we receive out of the box looks like this.
So I sprayed water to the pants til it was soggy wet, and I grab parts of the pants and pulled it so that it loosens it up.
I had to do this numerous times cause the pants were vey tight.
So, now with the the bigger AOU helmet head plus looser fitting pants, it makes the body look more proportionate.
Looks a lot closer to the proto.

As far as keeping your figures stock, it's perfectly understandable.
My rule is if it bothers me, then I have to do the mods.
But there's many times when people do certain mods to a figure, but for me personally, it doesn't bother me, so I'll leave it alone.
So if people are ok with their stock figures, then that's all that matters.
