I would love for SS to include a better more intense Jedi Luke sculpt with Darth Vader as a extra since they say they will not revisit a figure.

They won't revisit a figure, but they've been very careful about the way they name their figures, especially lately. Han Solo, for example, is named Tatooine Smuggler. It would be really easy to slap an extra accessory (stormtrooper belt) and new body (pro) a new head sculpt (with the new googly eyes feature) together and call it Han Solo Death Star Escape. That would be the same kind of technicality Hot Toys is getting away with here in the sense the new figure is the cop Joker, but we get an extra head sculpt and some clothes.

Eyes are cool though! :horror

Well I wonder, is this film accurrate and the scene used a bit of film magic and just figured for how quick you see him and all, Ledger could just wear his hair normal length at that point and we would just buy that his hair is pulled up and tucked into the hat.

I'm fairly certain the long hair was his real hair. I'm pretty sure it was tucked up into the hat much like how his hair was under the nurse wig. But when it comes to making a sculpt of that, why would you want to sculpt his hair like that? The short hair works for the figure and gets the work done, but I'd still like to see more shots of it.

Holy crap!

New coat material and suspenders. This set looks great.

But they didn't fix the color of the back of the vest nor the jacket and lining.

And no shotgun or rocket launcher. :(

That's essentially what I'm getting at.

A) HT got greedy and wanted to have figures out for the film release, they rushed, didn't have all the details, the figure was lesser because of it.

B) Ok, you ^^^^ed up on Joker, you're making it better, it's a sucky deal for those who want the best, BUT, let this be the only time, in the future, do not pull this ^^^^ again.

I'm not condoning what's happening persay, but I am saying fine, you guys ^^^^ed up, at least you're making it right, now, but I will not accept this as a pattern. Everyone ^^^^s up, the key is to learn from it. Like I said, I hope HT has learned about dealing with source images and things from this, understands their loyal fanbase will buy up their ^^^^ as long as it's made welll whenever they put it out, even if it's months after the film was in theaters, and just make good products.

They did and they should live with that being the version out.Make the Cop version really cool and rake it in on that. The thing is I think they will pull this again especially if this sells well at all which it looks like it will cause their are folks like you and I who will want the best version out there or many awesome versions that represent something we care about.

I think saying fine you guys messed up though is condoning what happened and allowing it to happen in the future. However, I'm as bad by buying it. :lol I just find it funny that SS does something and folks as if they just stole their first born but HT retreads a figure and its ok. I'm not shocked though because for most HT is the next thing to Christ himself.

The sculpt of Luke was fine. It could have been more intense but doing so would only tick people off.

For those who bought V1 Joker and are feeling scammed, I would argue that if you find that figure to be unsatisfactory then you should have passed on it; I found the likeness to be pretty poor so never bought it. And this is nothing new: when the next Batman film is released Hot Toys will surely make a Dark Knight figure far greater than the one I bought, and likewise for Iron Man. But Heath Ledger's Joker won't be coming back in any future films, so it's nice to have one great figure for those of us who were unsatisfied with the first two figures and voted with our wallets.

So, is the consensus on potential price still around $250-300? That's a bit much, but taking all the new stuff into consideration and the PERS eyeballs, That's still a tough pill to swallow.

Now I'm contemplating selling my BR Joker...:(

:banghead:banghead:banghead can't stop looking at the photos. :banghead
I feel like a sucker for buying the original joker and bank robber joker and I'm gonna feel like an even bigger sucker when I cave and buy this :banghead:lol

Joe has the HT version for only $200. So $250-300 is not right. The DCD release should be even cheaper!

$199.95 + $9.95 S&H in the U.S. is what Joe aka Mista305 quoted to me. And that's for the HT shipment, not the DCD. The HT shipment is expected around July while the DCD shipment is expected sometime in the Fall.. which is why the price will be a little cheaper. Maybe $179.95 + S&H.

$200. Joe already has it up for order on the board.

HT Suspenders are wrong. Green pattern on lighter shade.

As are the socks, still.

My .02. Passing on this. I'm very happy with my V1 w V2 head, like the paint scheme better as well. I may pick up a remodded jacket with grenade rig parted out down the line. My biggest concern, shared with many others, is the superquick release of improved V1 outfit. Many will feel cheated as they didn't get the first one right. I'm a bit more gun shy now as well with 1st release Figs, knowing HT may do this with DX figures in the future.

Now it seems better to wait.

i am simply amazed by the absolute beauty of this piece...in fact i think hot toys are lying to us and took photos of the real heath ledger dressed as joker.

this is really unbelievable!

i only have three nitpicks:

1) the joker sculpt looks too similar to br sculpt...too angry. while the paint is better and less messy, he looks to damn similar and angry...then again, so did heath in the film.

2) the tie looks like a better fabric, but it's still not the right design!

3) cop joker head looks like freaking tom hanks for pete's sakes! it looks good, and realistic...and would make a great forrest gump custom!

Josh,

I think everytime HT has done this, the fans have screamed foul. From the P2 pred to now. And some even before that with the Robocop with the reveal helmet on Robo3. I don't think anyone likes it from any company. I didn't like it from Medicom with the new THIRD version of the Rocketeer.:banghead

I think we should hold all these companies to the same standard...and just like SSC should have released expansion packs for Luke and Han for the stormie accessories, HT should have done the same here. I think the ideal thing to do would have been to offer this set as is and simultaneously release an expansion pack that could be purchased seperately for folks who didn't want the cop joker but did want to update and improve on their V1 joker.

I guess we know why the sudden push to get true types back in the market...

Let me say that I agree, and am definitely buying this figure...BUT the main concern people have with the v1 was not the likeness...it was the fact that to get the ultimate Joker, you had to buy the v1 and the BR Joker for the headsculpt. Now we get another head and improved (but not perfect) outfit. I think this figure is a MUST BUY, simply for the new headsculpt and cop Joker, but you have to understand why some people are not happy. No one can see the future, and many people thought the BR Joker was the end of it (heck, a lot of people thought the v1 Joker was all they'd ever get), so to say it is the responsibility of the consumer to try and guess what figures will be re-released and what not is asking a lot. Just because the v1 was sub-par doesn't mean it was a clear pass...and many people were happy they bought it after the release of the BR Joker. So it is understandable like I said why some people feel hurt. I personally don't because this is a hobby I have chosen and I love the Joker character so much this is an easy buy.

Thanks for the info, guys. Guess I'll have to hit up Joe with a pm.

I think I can honestly pass on this one. I mean it looks great, but the Police suit seems like a waste of money. I don't think anyone really cared about a scene where he's barely in the movie. A nurse Joker would have made an awesome addition. While everyone is buying this, everyone will be selling their V1 clothes for probably very cheap. That is when I will strike!

I was wondering about this. There are some clear mistakes made in the costume of the v1...the tie color, coat color, innner lining of coat color, socks color...and the only issues they seemed to address is the fabric of the tie and fabric of the coat (with slightly improved color). Everything else seems to be similar enough to the original (except of course the added grenades). I do love the new Joker headsculpt (although like everyone else on the planet, would have wanted a smiling Joker), and believe it or not...I also love the COP head. Hot Toys is simply an amazing company.

That is why I think of Hot Toys like Apple. You buy the first gen iPhone and a year later, they announce a brand new model. Same with iPod's and basically every other device. Something bigger and better is always going to be released.

The quick-consumption culture must change.

I like to have things longer than 6 months.
