I just said this is another thread but this has made me not want to buy any figures now.
I purchased the joekr version 1 for the clothing. The the bank robber for the headsculpt.
Now this has happened and that was a waste of money I guess.
So if I buy a figure thats released in a months theres always the chance that a few months later ... the same character in the same clothing could be released but just made much better with a better headsculpt etc.
I would understand if it was a few years later but man... I can't afford to keep up.
Well... I can but I don't think I should. If that makes sense.

I'm even slightly feeling that hot toys never even wanted to make a cop joker. Just that they wanted to use that as an excuse to release this...

I know we were probably due this since we were the ones complaining about things anyway but isn't this a little rushed maybe ?.
Maybe I'm complaining more than I should be... just feel like I've been cheated a little.
The fact that they put two headsculpts with the bank robber joker was saying that the extra headsulpt was for the original but they still go ahead and then do this.

So whos to say that they won't release these clothes with an extra headsculpt in a few months with a few more weapons ? .

I don't Sean. This isn't the best way to treat people who paid for the first one really. I mean if they wan this "percieved" better one then they will feel they have to buy it. I don't think you make one figure then several months later "improve" it.

If SS did that all hell would break loose and people would be screaming from the mountain tops. So just letting HT get a pass I think is a bit of bull^^^^ frankly.

It may not have been intentional but its been done. Just put out your best version and give us that.

A) HT got greedy and wanted to have figures out for the film release, they rushed, didn't have all the details, the figure was lesser because of it.

B) Ok, you ^^^^ed up on Joker, you're making it better, it's a sucky deal for those who want the best, BUT, let this be the only time, in the future, do not pull this ^^^^ again.

I'm not condoning what's happening persay, but I am saying fine, you guys ^^^^ed up, at least you're making it right, now, but I will not accept this as a pattern. Everyone ^^^^s up, the key is to learn from it. Like I said, I hope HT has learned about dealing with source images and things from this, understands their loyal fanbase will buy up their ^^^^ as long as it's made welll whenever they put it out, even if it's months after the film was in theaters, and just make good products.

Which can go two ways. A) scare tactics to book orders up front to beat the bad price, or B) they increase the price for all orders.

Since there's no cancellation fee, if they do not honor the original price they put it up for pre-order at, I will simply cancel and take my business somewhere I feel like supporting.

I'm actually going to canel and go with Toys2 anyway most likely as they get it much sooner than BBTS and I'm already very anxious for this figure.

There are several improvements here most notably:
1. What appears to be a longer, gold chain (though the chain IS adjustable)
2. The wool coat (more accurate material) as opposed to the "toyish" looking stuff
3. the pants are tapered heavier like in the actual film
4. More extra hands
5. Better head than the original (though disappointing compared to the bank robbery one and I worry about those rolling eyes)
6. suspenders!

but it's not like they didn't have the reference material to make this all possible the FIRST time. The V1, which was by all means a GOOD figure is now given the crapshoot and already outdated even though people just got them this summer. I personally did not buy the V1 because I foresaw such a thing like this happening as soon a the Bank Robber Version came out, which was also a scam btw since you can't swap the heads on a figure whose head is meant to be swapped.

I would love for SS to include a better more intense Jedi Luke sculpt with Darth Vader as a extra since they say they will not revisit a figure.

I didn't read through the almost 40 pages to get here, but I skimmed here and there and the opinions about the quality of the figure seems to be collectively high, but the opinions of the perceived Hot Toys greed by way of releasing DX figures seems mixed.

I'm not going to get caught up in it or read too far into it. I just want to say that in the world of collectibles HT isn't the first to have done this, so I'm okay with it. This new Joker figure comes with enough new stuff to justify another release. Hot Toys' wherewithal back during the TDK movie hype may not have been where it is now in terms of resources, so who can blame them for putting out separate releases at timed intervals? Shouldn't we all be happy they're even still releasing figures from this line? Well, I'd rather like an Oldman figure, but hey.

If they release another Joker in half a year's time from now, I'd be on it too as long as there is ample incentive to buy, and that is exactly what this DX Joker is.

Finally caught up...with that said, this is just what I was hoping for! Now V1 can become "Interrogation" Joker (got a chair the other day) w/ BR head! And BillyB's shirt and tie will still go on the "Mob" Joker.

Somehow I missed this. Is there any way to still get a BillyB shirt and tie? If so, how?

i don't understand the need to call Hot Toys greedy... they make toys and continue to innovate... they strive to give us choices and variety... how freaking exciting is that?

we hurted by the nitpicking ..whom made several people to buy the v1 overpriced....but..doesnt changes at all...its already happened....and hottoys i believe they should think about it, they should give something different what will we get in v3 isnt all the stuff from v1...

Problem is as much as I like Hot Toys they've already shown this to be their pattern. The Superman returns figure they released was eventually rereleased with a better head sculpt, the Jack Sparrow figure had the better headsculpt and more accurate color in the 2nd version, and then the Batman Begins figure was rereleased upon the new film with an upgraded headsculpt and new attempt at the suit

If it makes you guys feel any better, it looks like the grenade rig isn't removable from the coat although the grenades themself are.

I really want some more shots of the Cop head. His hair looks slicked back, but yet short in the back.

This is the most realistic sculpt I've ever seen in a collectible. It's so sad that most PFs can't touch this.

Well I wonder, is this film accurrate and the scene used a bit of film magic and just figured for how quick you see him and all, Ledger could just wear his hair normal length at that point and we would just buy that his hair is pulled up and tucked into the hat.
