My thoughts.
Packaging- I really like this one. Much better than the original DX boxes,DX01 and DX02. It doesn't have that crappy semi-gloss finish on the outside of the box where if you just barely touch it there's scrapes left behind. But beyond that the art is better. I dig the crouched laughing Jester on the front and the glossy " HA HA HA!!" in the inner flap.
Accessories- Well, there is enough here to please everyone. Well, most of us. A few things that fans have been asking for but not everything. But for me it's just fine. They included the shoe knife which I don't care for.Speaking of which, this seems like one of those things that everyone asks for but never uses when they have it. I mean, think of how you would display him with it. Anyway, the pencil and the selection of knives are a nice touch and welcome. The finish on the machine gun looks different to me but I can't be sure because I don't have the old one anymore. Now the finish on the glock is definitely different and looks more on the cheap side compared to the last one. Much like the hand gun that came with the DX10. The chair and table are nice for those of us that don't have it and finally gives some of us the interrogation scene set up we've wanted. I like the faux rust on the stand. Still not sure how I feel about the purple border though.
Suit- This thing is nice. It took me a little of guard. Now I don't know if it's because I had the previous Jokers and was still expecting something along the lines of that or my lack of faith in a mass production run being able to put out the same level of quality of a custom. Either way this thing is an upgrade on every level. The purple coat is nowhere near as fuzzy looking in hand. I've taken pics and I can't get it to look the way I see it in hand.. It's very soft and it kind of "flows" when moved. The vest, sport coat, shirt and tie are wonderful. All of which, with the exception of the vest, drove me up the wall on the DX01. All pieces here are sharp and speak quality. I like the shoes more than I thought I would and actually have what looks like a bit of weathering already done to them. The pants are fine with me but I think I may prefer the V1 pants to these just for articulation reasons but I don't think of it as a step down by any means. And the socks.
They're different. Are they accurate? Are they exactly the same color as the film? I don't know. I like them more.
Head sculpts- This is the toughest part. For me, I actually like all the HT sculpts they've done of the Joker and can see Ledger in every one of them to varying degrees of course. They're all pretty caricature-ish. With this one, is it better? I guess. I think there is a lot of Ledger in there. Like most PERS sculpts the likeness can be stronger or weaker depending on where you position the eyes. This one is no exception and actually may be the strongest example of such. I like the sculpts but at this late date is it a slam dunk? No, I don't think so. We've seen dozens of Ledger Joker sculpts over the past few years it's gotten to the point where it's extremely difficult to review these sculpts on their own merit. You're gonna compare them. The likeness is there but I don't think it's the end all be all of Ledger sculpts and I see me buying a replacement somewhere down the road. But that's the nature of these head sculpt, ennit? But for now it'll do. It has a lot of character and potential for some really fun poses/displays. I don't like the laughing as much as I thought I would but honestly when everyone else was demanding and craving a laughing sculpt I was one of the only ones that was "meh'.
Mine do have a shine to them which I could do without but it's nothing I'm going to lose my **** over. It is what it is.
Overall Id' give it an 8.5/10 and that's high praise for me. I rarely give 9's or 10's to anything whether its a movie or a figure or otherwise.
