Yeah, I'd like to thank everybody who's posted pics and has "inspired" me to spend almost $350 in buying everything needed to make what I believe is the most definitive Dark Knight figure ever

initially had this preordered then cancelled, but after watching vid reviews and in hand pics, WTH was I thinking. Back on preorder through BBTS thankfully there were some left

Just got mine from Superpower Collectibles !!!!

After months of seeing people complain, hack, cut, paint, futz, glue, epoxy,and swap parts on this figure I was expecting the worst. Now that I have it in hand though, I think it is amazing and am completely satisfied with this guy right out of the box.

I did purchase the custom cape for it and so far is the only thing I have changed on the figure. I may sand the face plates down a little so they rest a little better in the cowl, but other than that, I have no complaints.

Some of you guys really made it seem like it was an abomination and the worst product ever produced by Hot Toys lol.

The cowl headsculpt is an abomination to many.

The biggest issue for me is the cowl. The head is the focal point of any figure so if the first thing you are drawn to is a disappointment, it's hard to get impressed. You can have an all out kato outfit, but if you plug in a mediocre head, the figure will still look mediocre at its best.

The biggest thing was I was torn between dx12 and medix version so when I received this, part of me wished I have gone the medix route.
But one of the best mod ever is the swap of the faceplate that Robbie made and maglor switch of the dx02 mouth.
It completely changes the look of the cowl. Now it's very much comparable to the medicom head, and now paired with the amazing high tech suit of the figure, now it's pure win.
Best 1/6 batman figure.

Sounds like your issue is with the face plates that were provided by Hot Toys and not the actual cowl. I agree that they are the weakest part of the entire figure (even though I do think it is still leaps and bounds better than the DX02 cowl sculpt). I think that they should have sculpted a few more variations to include with it. I imagine that DX02 faceplate is going to become a hot commodity on Ebay.

The custom work many of you have done is amazing. Some really look like actual movie stills or photos of Bale in the suit. It makes an already excellent figure pop and look even better.
