Dunno what I want after Selina.... Maybe the new Robocop as I had the old one but had to sell it.

Re: HOT TOYS : MMS DX 12 - The Dark Knight Rises - BATMAN / BRUCE WAYNE Full Specs &

Oh man, that's what irks me to hell. Once Selina comes out, I'll in theory, have completed the Tdk trilogy....HOWEVER!! Where's mah scarecrow?! Where's mah ras?! I know scarecrow technically came out, but he wasn't purchasable through normal means with reasonable prices. I know if I want Nolan's other big baddie, ill have to suck it up and pay those scalper prices...

And then there's ras....

Is there really no demand for him??! Just release the bastard with the microwave emitter and boom.

And what about commissioner Gordon? Gonna be another lame SDCC exclusive?!

Sigh...I just want to complete my TDK collection.

The new Robocop really looks fantastic. I know I'm in for one, despite my general dislike of die-cast.

Forgot about the lack of a HT Ras and a straight up Scarecrow. I'd actually want those if they came around, come to think of it.:slap

Re: HOT TOYS : MMS DX 12 - The Dark Knight Rises - BATMAN / BRUCE WAYNE Full Specs &

Honestly, I now have Joker and batman and the only one I REALLY would like to have is Bane for now. I'm not that big on collecting side characters. Just the main villains and of course batman himself (which I now have and I don't think I'll ever need another one, didn't buy the new joker either). But I'm hoping HT releases a new Bane sometime in the future, he looks surprisingly cool (the proto pics made him look horrible) but he actually turned out pretty awesome, BUT he's STILL not good enough imo. Thus I'm holding out on Bane, if they won't release a new version....tough luck. Would really like a Scarecrow or Ra's.

posing figures comes quite naturally to me, I just imagine a scene from the film or just a standard bad *** pose and I just...do it. But if you're kind of at a loss try watching some of ClipperKing's "The All New ClipperKing Figure Re pose" video series.

Honestly, posing is an art form like any other. One that's easy to disparage of course, but still an art form. ;) Plenty of people are employed as window dressers posing life-sized mannequins all day, not to mention folks creating stop motion animation, etc. As an artist quite skilled at a lot of other things, I'll admit it's pretty damn challenging posing these figures well.

:goodpost: :exactly:

People outside of the hobby have no idea about the truth in this.

I will say I do find certain figures more challenging to pose than others-- if their clothing is restrictive or something. Even then, I think that as long as one strives for characterful, natural poses, you just can't go wrong.

I mean, the DX11 damn near poses itself in terms of articulation and the character it has within it. Get the eyes right, get the head tilt just so, and you're off and away.

Pepper in some creativity and the possibilities are endless.

That dude poses figures like a master. Love his vids!

Moggie is pretty good as well.

Re: HOT TOYS : MMS DX 12 - The Dark Knight Rises - BATMAN / BRUCE WAYNE Full Specs &

There are times where some people have such creativity and give their figures great poses...

That being said, there are times when those same creative poses are out of character lol. I mean, I've seen Luke posed like a ninja. Never happened in the movies, ever. I can appreciate the time the owner put into posing his Luke with a martial arts stance, and while it does looks badass, I can't help but think....hmmm, he never did that though.

At the same time, I guess I also wish I had that child like wonder or creativity. Not giving a crap and just have fun with your collectibles.

Lol I guess I'm a boring guy.

Nah, I won't say you're boring. Your post actually makes a lot of sense.

Posing is very important of you want your action figures displayed and say something about the character, because POSE is what gives us an idea of the character's personality even in a static representation, particularly to those who are not so familiar with the source material. This is also where the thinking happens before a sculptor does his work, or before a comicbook artist draws a pin up.

:lol I know what you mean. I must admit I like to look at film stills sometimes when coming up with a pose to avoid such a problem.

No shame in that at all. No one copyrights a pose.

Re: HOT TOYS : MMS DX 12 - The Dark Knight Rises - BATMAN / BRUCE WAYNE Full Specs &

I currently have my figure posed similar to this:

vlcsnap-2011-12-24-05h22m45s129.png

It's my favorite shot of Batman (and the film in general). I can't REALLY replicate it, because the DX12 can't hunch over that much. But it's pretty close.

Angry face plate+open palm left hand/fist right hand(those can be switched up if you like)+hunch him over as much as you can+make him look angry with the PERS by shifting the eyes up a bit+move the head a bit down (as if he's looking at Bane coming up the steps)+the base, which speaks for it self (they're the actual steps Batman is standing on in this shot, which I think was Hot Toy's inspiration for the base). And that's just about it really, quite an easy pose to do and it's something he does in the film as well, so....win!

Ah, that's nice to know. I'd rather not start pulling and jerking on Hot Toys figures and accessories before I know what I'm doing. The naked belt was shut tight so much that I was convinced it was glued, guess not :slap

I had this figure since last year and I never figured out how to open that belt. It is my favorite if the two but since I always see every picture posted with people using the bulkier belt I assume it could not be opened.

I cringe whenever I see bad futzing... such as those pics where the stock cape isn't pushed all the way in... why buy such expensive toys and make them look like cheap $50 dolls with all this bad futzing!

Damn I hate that stupid word! Why do some people on the forums only insist on using that god awful word?
