Re: Hot Toys Iron Man Mark 33

Call SSC and request a pack out - for 10 bucks they put the HT shipping box inside another box with some brown paper cushion.

Oh cool i can live with that extra 10 bucks!! i will definitely use that option then thank you guys for replying..

Sideshow's shipping is deceiving. Cheapest shipping to anywhere flat rate of $10. But they don't pack out, so an additional $10 and you have a $20 shipping charge which is probably one of the more expensive. Other places are cheaper and they pack it out no matter what. Like BBTS and Shopafx, Alter Ego.

Lol it adds up! I've spent $160 so far in just packouts and it will be $30 more with sleeveless thor, ga cap and ex silver centurion. Then I'm in CA so that's plus 7.5 tax.

Re: Hot Toys Iron Man Mark 33

I'm sorting out my display area right now so they are all in my av closet, took them out for a quick shot of box ****.
I was hoping to have the space completed over the holiday weekend but it's not going to happen. Hopefully in a few more weeks.

Yes I have opened and inspected at least every unique armor. I will finally get most of the collection displayed soon. I'm finishing building up 13 detolfs and storage underneath them now. Need to get the lighting situated and it will be in good shape in the home theatre room.

S__t just got real

My OCD would not be able to let me go for an asymmetrical display. I think most sixth scale collectors have OCD, mild or severe. Lol

Definitely varying degrees of OCD in this community from low functioning to high functing :lol But 99% of us have it at some capacity

LOL. That exactly the way an addict who hasn't accepted they are an addict would say it.

:lecture :lol

The desire to "collect em all" that most if not all who indulge in any sort of collecting hobby could be termed as a form of OCD in itself!

Great set up hokietwo, cant wait to see it when its done!

I'm glad I do not have that kind of OCD where I have to "get them all" when it comes to HTs. I like my "less is more" style and only get the figures I truly want; ones that make sense in my display.

Agree with less is more. I have just over 100 HTs but I am planning on displaying 1 per shelf. They look so much better isolated and allow more attention to the details of each figure. You can always rotate the lineup and freshen the display so no need to clutter the shelves.

Going for a more museum style with the wall display and the tough part is deciding how to mix genres together across the shelves. Think I'll do a Batman in the center rows as a focus since I'll have a dedicated Iron Man dio display across the way. The hall of armor will be moved shortly and replaced with 89 Bat mobile.

Finally got 10 up and working on the lights.

Looks great, definitely agree with the less is more concept. When SC drops from FP I'm upgrading from my old Ikea bookcase to a Detolf... I dont have the room to ever have something that epic! you must have a very understanding other half!

Thanks guys it is a labor of love.

I have a great wife and we do not have nor plan on having kids, as I am more than enough of a challenge for her.:) We each have a vice with her's being clothes and handbags and mine collectibles. She's a marathon runner so our agreement was I can have all the displays I want as long as it was in good taste and she got to have/do two things in the room. 1. Exercise equipment for training 2.Pick the furniture.

Outside of that I was golden.:lol
