Guess you didnt seizeurdestiny...lol

I have the efx hammer on po...apparently it got delayed till q2..now that bbts is sold out, get a gantry quick before tge prices really soar.

My reasoning for buying it was that the mark iv alone was $300~350 and the gantry was the same price...so totall it was $600~700, at $500 it was a bargain..

I took your advice. I decided I could not pass this up. I just bought the gantry with Mark IV, brand new from a seller on ebay. :yess:

It cost me a little bit more than I would have paid retail, but it was an acceptable price to have this in my collection. I am very happy. Now I await it's arrival next week. :impatient:

The doctor is right..$500 +40 + 25.you are right there.living in ca and buying from ssc sucks....i would have done the same for the record...

Ouch. Still a great piece. I'm sure that price will double in another year or so.

Yeah, my wife thinks it was a hefty price, but she doesn't say anything about my collecting. Lucky for me my wife is actually encouraging of my hobby. She does not share my love of collecting, but will admit that it is impressive.

I offset the cost of the gantry by selling my 89 DX Batman. I decided due to the cost of the hobby that I had to be focused on one license. So I decided to stick to Marvel. So in the end the price was not too bad, considering how much this piece will eventually go for on the secondary market. I am excited to get it. The pics on here are making me very eager to get this. Should have it by Jan 31st. It will be an awesome addition to my Marvel Hot Toys collection.

She sounds like a definite keeper. My wife is okay with my collecting habits too. Besides, just this past year I've rubbed off on her anyway since she's started collecting Monster High. Its hard to believe some of those Mattel dolls fetch prices almost as high as HT! :horror

She definitely is a keeper. It amazes our friends and family that she "lets" me spend the money on what they perceive as "dolls" and "kid toys". But she is awesome and realizes that collecting is part of who I am, and that it makes me happy. And as she tells all the nay sayers, if it makes him happy and i love him, why would I deny him what makes him happy. She is awesome.

Viking and SeizeUrDestiny, isn't it great to have a wife like that! Mine is the same, she knew I was a collector when she met me, and she knows it makes me happy. She makes playful fun of Robocop, because she never liked Robocop, the character or the film...but she loves RDJ as Tony Stark, so the Iron Man collection is a clear winner! :wink1:

I offset the cost of items by selling other ones. Sold original Mark IV for like $450 to put towards the Gantry and replacement Mark IV...sold original ED-209 for $550 to put towards Iron Monger...so even though it can be an expensive hobby, there's ways to sell to buy. Besides, if I didn't do that, I'd have no room to display everything! :monkey1

It is great. Of the women I dated before I met my wife, not a single one supported my hobby. They actually looked at it like it was some childish thing. I am a geek. I love movies, comics, collecting. It's part of who I am, and it makes me happy, so to accept me is to accept that. And I like to think I rubbed off on my wife. Our wedding had a Star Wars theme, subtle but there. She went along with it, and loved it. Our youngest son was born May 4th, with the Star Wars theme playing in the background. Plus my wife agreed to the name Luke Walker... so she is on the path of being converted. Lol. She does say my man cave is the coolest room in the house.... so yeah, I am very lucky.
