Re: Hot Toys - MMS - MOS: General Zod (Tease)

No, because her "bloodlust" was not blind, at all, she was toying with humans because they were inferior to her.

If they had won, they had the equipment to make new Krypton just like the old one, with predetermined individuals and I presume the scout ship had all the elements necessary for the new generation's education and overall nurture, they are not men of state, nor educators, nor scientist, they are soldiers once they had succeeded their mission would be over, the only duty they'd have left is to protect the new krypton.

It's the right thing to do because they were bred that way.

And for the gazillionth time, the word immoral and "no morality" can be used and it makes perfect sense, don't make me start copy/pasting my old replies :lol

How do you reconcile a person believing that they have "no sense of morality" while at the same time believing in a "right thing to do"?

Are you saying that she doesn't choose to believe that at all, but is only acting according to her breeding?

Boy you really made me copy/paste my reply huh? :lol

The word immoral means that they have no morality comparable to the accepted moral code, ergo, acting against such code, that's why the word immoral serves to address individuals who are vicious/not morally correct, they have no comparable morality to Superman at the moment the line was spoken, otherwise, the preservation of the human race would've been in their plans among other things, therefore, opposite moral code could very well mean "no sense of morality".

Now, of course they are acting how they're meant to act due to their respective roles in Kryptonian society.

You're really basically ignoring like 10 pages worth of discussion and restarting the argument.

No, I read that, and I actually agree with the point that they're acting according to their roles in Kryptonian society. But like someone else said earlier, that's not "no sense of morality", that's just no sense of human values/morality...Faora clearly is acting in line with her sense of Kryptonian morality.

But they were also acting against the main moral code in Krypton at the time of the coup, which makes them immoral which was paradoxically caused by their own breeding, they acted against the council because they led Krypton to it's destruction.

That is precisely no sense of morality.

Am I the only one nit willing to waste all day arguing about an unprovable concept in thread devoted to a much-wanted action figure....?

I have a feeling that we are very close to agreement on the concepts, just that we strongly disagree on the wording she used. We both know what she meant, and you believe she accurately described her meaning/intention, while I believe she didn't.

Haha nope, I'm a nit too. :1-1:

I'm cool with that, we can agree to disagree :duff

Whew! Glad we got that settled. Now lets talk about Faora's line, "A good death is its own reward," and how it was used as someone who wasn't the pilot made a suicide run in a plane into a skyscraper type structure in the middle of what felt like New York City.

I know you're kidding, but I actually had no issues with that line at all, especially when used between opposing warriors. It's as close as they could get to almost "respecting" each other for their warrior code, even though they were fundamentally enemies to the death.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - MOS: General Zod (Tease)

I like how Col. Hardy and Faora have a grudge on each other from the moment she asked for Lois.

I am kidding about this being the forum to talk about it. Yes. But it is a pet peeve of mine that films glorify suicide runs so much. Especially in planes. Maybe it's because I lived in New York when they tried to blow up the towers the first time in the 90s, but whenever a movie wants me to feel good about someone ramming a plane into a stationary structure I feel a little sick to my stomach.

That aside, the whole repeating someone's line thing works. I'm a big fan of that mechanism in films.

And in this case, yes, it's a little bit of... they're both soldiers doing their job.

Wake me when pics and specs are up. All of this intellectual **** measuring contest talk in Zod dollie thread is making me sleepy.

I agree. I wonder how long we can expect to wait before we get the actual pics and specs. We were teased on Superman and Jor-el at the same time and got the low down about a month later for Superman and almost 2 months before Jor-el. So going off that timeline logic, I guess we could expect somewhere in mid August or beginning of Sept.

Release will probably be 2nd quarter 2014. Or atleast I hope, to have 3 from the same line coming out in the same quarter will really hurt the wallet.:slap

Am I the only one who's more excited to see a preview of Faora than specs for this guy? :lol
