Re: SPECTULATION: Hot Toys MMS: Spider-Man: Homecoming - The Vulture - Collectible Fi

Guys should totally temper expectations. Based on their history, it is a high probability that HTs won't produce this figure at all. If they do, all the fans have better collections for it but Hot Toys has ALWAYS been notorious for not completing lines or doing one and done's.

Re: SPECTULATION: Hot Toys MMS: Spider-Man: Homecoming - The Vulture - Collectible Fi

I wonder if they'll make prototype, show it off, then never release of it.

I want to see a marvel cinematic universe venom and iron spider.

Re: SPECTULATION: Hot Toys MMS: Spider-Man: Homecoming - The Vulture - Collectible Fi

This has got to be the sickest piece of concept art I've ever seen. Vulture has never looked this badass before.

Just like Crossbones, since his helmet came with CW Cap?

Well by the end of everything we'll have a nice helmet display to fill in for actual villains.

Re: SPECTULATION: Hot Toys MMS: Spider-Man: Homecoming - The Vulture - Collectible Fi

To be fair, he was in the movie for about 5 minutes.

My point was that just because the helmet comes with it, there is no guarantee the figure will be released.
My opinion is that the Vulture will never see the light of day as a HT figure.

I think it all depends on how good this movie is. I bet they have done the development work on this one IN CASE the movie is a big hit and if it is, then they will capitalize on it. Makes sense, no?

Re: SPECTULATION: Hot Toys MMS: Spider-Man: Homecoming - The Vulture - Collectible Fi

They look at this and the design screams Sony style. Which, mind you, I take no qualms with personally. I like this, just as I liked the Dafoe Goblin. But this is no more a departure or more "grounded" than the Rami designs which have been hated on. If this was a pure Sony film, people would be up in arms about the design. It's MCU though, so it's all okay.

But given that, HT is looking at this and deciding if they want to risk that public backlash once the film is out and that opinion shifts. There are three things to think about though influencing HT's move here:

-They rarely do MCU villains. We've got what, three? Thanos, Loki x2, and Whiplash x2?

-They almost always do Spiderman Villains for the movies they've covered - SM3: Symbiote suit and New Goblin, ASM2: Electro. That's three villains for two of three films. Much better track record. (Yes, Symbiote suit isn't a true enemy but it does make Peter his own villain, so, maybe more symbolic. But still, I'm giving HT some extra credit here).

-You can't give away their last villain for a Spidey movie. There's a lot of reasons why that's the case, many that won't apply to Vulture, but I don't blame them for not jumping the gun here.

But really, what was the last Marvel villain figure they've made that was a good character from a good movie AND a cool figure? Avengers Loki? Ultron was a decent villain that got a disappointing figure, Mandarin got an awesome figure but was a disappointing villain. (To most people, at least. The truth is that Iron Man 3 is secretly one of the best MCU movies!) People didn't like Thanos because of the price and lack of any accessories except for a chair nobody had room for. The earlier Spidey villains were all from crap movies, though Electro is supposedly a neat figure. Etc.

So it's no wonder people don't buy the villains, but it seems like HT learns the wrong lessons about why. They need to be good figures from good movies. Yellow Jacket would be awesome because it's an awesome design from a really good movie. Hannibal from Doctor Strange would also sell well, I'm sure, as would an Ego.

And I would certainly be interested in a Vulture if the movie turns out well, simply because Michael freaking Keaton! But yeah, it would be crazy expensive and certainly be hard to fit in a detolf. But when has that stopped them?

Re: SPECTULATION: Hot Toys MMS: Spider-Man: Homecoming - The Vulture - Collectible Fi

Mads Mikkelsen (Kaecilius) played Hannibal Lecter in the Hannibal TV show.

Yeah i know. :rotfl
The guy who built the death star. Or the guy from one of the Daniel Craig's james bond movie.
But i want him as Kaecilius. :impatient:

Re: SPECTULATION: Hot Toys MMS: Spider-Man: Homecoming - The Vulture - Collectible Fi

As cool as this fig would be, I cant see a full out winged version being done, but on the other hand it is Micheal Keaton, so it may have a chance, really hard to say

Re: SPECTULATION: Hot Toys MMS: Spider-Man: Homecoming - The Vulture - Collectible Fi

I had barely enough room for Falcon when I had the figure. Can't imagine trying to display Vulture and his wingspan

Don't get me wrong, if they made this, I'm definitely getting it. Just gotta be creative displaying him. Ceiling fan comes to mind :lol

Just remove some of the ceiling fan blades and secure Vulture in place, makes for a great conversation piece :D
