Hosnian Prime was the one the showed the people on before it blew up, right?

I really wish they had shown who those people and worlds were - it just sort of happens without any real setup, and there's multiple planets in one go.

As a child, I always imagined what it would look like on Alderaan when the blast hit, Death Star hanging like a low moon.

But now having actually seen it from the people's POV on Hosnian Prime, it's not a good thing to see in a Star Wars movie.

Could have wiped out Jakku as one of the planets, as it would have given more reason for Rey to move forward, but Jakku seemed like a backwater with nothing to do with the republic so that might not have worked after that anti-republic speech. "We will crush the republic ... and that crappy Jakku planet."

I want to see a Galaxy-Smasher!

Come on, First Order.... let's get a move on technology. Planet-smashing is so 40 years ago.

The ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of a new idea... or not.:lol

I did chuckle at that briefing scene where people go "another death star?!" and they punch a button to show it's TEN times the size of the old one. The ROTJ one was much bigger than the ANH one, so the ANH one must be like a marble compared to the TFA one.

Although we don't get much back story on the planets, that shot on Hosnian Prime really drove home the fact that individuals lives were coming to an apocalyptic end. I remember watching Alderaan explode as a child and having no emotional connection to what happened. Which would make you right in a sense because a child probably shouldn't have to imagine a red laser beam ripping through space and blowing up their planet :lol

Lmao were you guys distracted by Rey the entire time? (Actually I know you were. I read the last 7 pages :lol) They say the name of each planet in the movie. Jakku, Starkiller Base, Hosnian Prime, Takodana, D'Quar (resistance base). They just don't hammer it home like when Lucas made them.

Unless HT announces a second version, I'll order this one after she starts shipping, then get the lightsaber from Finn after he's parted out and call it good until Ep VIII. Until they make Han, Rey is the only one I want from TFA.

I thought most of that I found out in books. I didn't really hear them. They said the Hosnian system very clearly, but I don't think they ever said Hosnian Prime. I definitely don't remember D'Quar ever being said.

Whatever, though. I don't think it's actually that big of a deal either way. LOL.

Wow how did you get all that..oh well, looks like you agree with me that they didn't make the names memorable like Lucas :lol

D'Quar..seriously, sounds like Klingon :slap

I love the Rey and BB set to bits, it looks so good!

Someone in this thread (can't remember who) predicted a double ended yellow saber. I thought exactly the same, and I hope so! It would also be cool to have her build it on screen for a change.

Looking back did anyone think they made Rey just a little bit too perfect as a character. Aside from her being alone

1. She can live by herself, take care of herself
2. tough, resourceful
3. Peak Physical condition, fast agile
4. Can take on and beat up guys that attack her
5. Excellent pilot
6. Intense force mind tricks
7. Can use a saber
8. Able to defeat a Force wielder who has been trained for years by the Darkside with no training from anyone
9. Mature
10. Pretty good knowledge of being a starship mechanic

It's like they made her similar but better than farm boy Luke..key word Farm Boy

Luke was whiny, adventurous, he let a bounty hunter man handle him in the Cantina, but he was an excellent pilot and in good physical condition, advantage of having an aunt and uncle take care of him and have a job working with his uncle. He had friends his whole life

The similarities and differences between the two just amazes me :lecture

I think Rey is great. She's coming to terms that she has power she doesn't understand but is naturally talented to a degree that hasn't been seen before.

In a way she is like a female Richard Rahl, if anyone here is a Sword of Truth fan.

Haha I was just listening really carefully. The names are only mentioned once or twice. I may be wrong but I believe Han says Takodana and I think Leia says Hosnian and D'Quar.

What I read about Hosnian Prime and the New Republic was really interesting. To avoid a situation where the senate was rife with corruption, they move the galactic capital to different systems after set periods of time. I hope they show more of the republic in VIII. Imagine the first order invading the new capital to make their base and we see Kylo march the steps like Vader in III. This could happen while Luke is training Rey, and then they both show up to confront Kylo and the Knights of Ren. Luke vs Kylo and Rey vs the Knights. Kylo wins and Rey wins, eliminating the Knights and reinstating the Rule of Two, while also making Rey the last Jedi. Just a thought. Sounded pretty cool in my head. :lol

I dont understand how they can almost perfectly nail Finn's likeness to Boyega, but then completely mess up Rey. It doesnt look anything like Daisy Ridley. Smh. This was the only TFA figure I wanted, and its the only one that looks really off. Awesome. Im sure they will do a 2.0 that looks much closer to her.... a year from now! Yay. It looks more like Natalie Portman.

Some of you guys are talking like one day she had no force then BAM she haz teh Force.

What do you think she was using to scale all those ghost ships? What do you think helped her learn how ships worked? She has spent her whole life training with the force. She just didn't realize it until Kylo brought her up to the next level by accident.

1 to 4 and 9 - Natural selection, living alone on a hard planet, it was either that or she would probably be dead.

5 - she mentioned she flew before, only not out of the planet. Luke had no big previous flying training as well, other than flying before on Tatooine. Also, the Force.

6 & 7 - the force is strong with her (to which is expected a future good and reasonable explanation).

8 - Kylo had been shot by Chewbacca bowcaster, which was shown as a powerfull weapon. Also, the Force.

At least, that's the way I see it.

I've seen a lot of criticism online that Rey was too perfect. Honestly, I have to wonder if all these people would be complaining if Rey was a man. It seems like a lot of viewers were just taken aback by how independent, resourceful, and strong she was, but how often do we question these qualities in male characters?

Mind you, I'm not saying that NOBODY would have claimed Rey was too perfect if she was a guy - I just wonder if as MANY people would have that complaint.
