Both SW are from the AOU line...they have not announced or shown the CW SW yet. I am curious that HT just might release Rey again using the same HS but with her final outfit looking at
Luke
. Because that's a cool outfit for sure!
You're right, I went to double check the pics and she has an AoU stand. They displayed her with the CW line so I figured she was too.

But yeah, that's the Rey I want as well. I wish I knew if they were planning it, if not I'll get this Rey and the lightsaber when Finn is parted out.

I hope in Episode VIII, they dig into the origin of her " Staff " she walks around with, it doesn't look ordinary by any means, nor does it look like something she found.

I know there are stories explaining the staff, but nothing is confirmed :lecture

I may be wrong, but it just looks like she pulled off something in the midst of her scavenging. I would be very surprised if there was anything more to it than that.

The Visual Dictionary refers to it twice simply as 'Salvaged quarterstaff'.

And: "Rey's fighting skill with her staff translates well into other short-ranged melee weapons, including those she has never wielded before."

i.e. the lightsaber. The book is careful throughout to avoid spoilers.

For example, it says Han "...became husband to an influential New Republic politician..." But doesn't mention it was Leia.

Staff does look really interesting, visual dictionary doesn't really say much about it other than it's a salvaged quarterstaff. Talks about her using pieces of old uniforms for the grips, other than that though theres no info on it really.

Yes, I doubt there's any mystery to it.

She just had to be shown to be accomplished with a melee weapon to help explain her saber-fighting skills.

The staff looks like some kind of rod pulled from a machine.

That sounds about right. Kinda hoping she does a saber staff when she makes her saber though.

Hmmm..so I guess Han and Leia never got married. So I'd assume that's why she became a general and not Queen Leia and he stayed a smuggler.

I guess the staff really meant nothing to Rey, because she didn't have it on Starkiller base and the end.

quick note...jakku wasn't his first military mission. he had one before it. but he failed. he was also #1 in his class and the strongest, he was leadership material but his biggest flaw in the eyes of the First Order was he had compassion for others.

Was that mentioned in the movie or from the novelization? I don't remember any of that :lol

They did. The book just can't say so because it avoids spoilers. He married "...an influential New Republic politician..."

Leia was a general because royal status and titles "...now hold little sway in a Republic determined to uphold the tenets of democracy."

The key word is "Republic".

Plus the planet she was a princess of kinda got blown up.....

Though the book does take the effort to mention that she was "...the last princess of Alderaan..." Regardless, her royal status doesn't command much authority due to the politics of the New Republic.

Even though she was adopted by the Organas and not really blood to Alderaan she still was royalty because of Padme right?

I'm not sure, because didn't Naboo have temporary monarchs? Padme gave up the role didn't she?

The Naboo connection is rarely made, as opposed to the Alderaan one. Luke would be a prince, but he's never mentioned as such.

Yeah, Naboo would elect their Queens

Padme was so good that they wanted to elect her for another term but she turned it down. The newly elected queen wanted her to be the Naboo Senator tho

Oh that's right, I forgot Padme turned down her royalty

Was her parents royalty? They seemed average in AOTC

The Title is Queen but there is no actual Royal lineage, its just what they call their President/Prime Minister as she was an elected head of state.

Seriously who wrote that idea and why did Lucas agree with it:slap
Another problem with the PT. If you are labeled Queen, you should be royalty. otherwise call her something else.
