It's interesting to see that her new outfit still had her arms wrapped and shins exposed with the short boots just like Jakku, I guess Abrams likes the look. It's odd too since in the OT each film Luke had a completely different looking outfits.

I read in the Art of TFA book that they had to come up with that second outfit in a week.

They just lost the long wrappings on her torso and replaced them with the vest. Everything else she wore with the main outfit.

I liked that her last outfit was more of an evolution than an abrupt change. I really liked it. I imagine she'll change clothes again at some point in Episode VIII. I'd be cool if the end-of-movie outfit was her official look for VIII though.

Yeah that makes sense. It was still her, but she didn't need the full-on scavenger gear, so it made sense as a tweak, incorporate the holster, etc. Given that it sounds like it was put together quickly I imagine they'll have something different planned, but for continuity we'll maybe see it? It all depends on how the plot goes in VIII. If it picks up right where it left off then sure, but in the OT there were some important gaps between movies.

It still makes me wonder about how Poe was flying to Jakku in his regular clothes, but then when there's a battle he puts on the flight gear. If none of that stuff is at all necessary, why do they even bother?

Maybe he was in disguise.

Maybe he was in disguise.

Maybe, but the giant X-Wing might be a bit of a giveaway. I guess that's why he parked it behind a dumpster. Just looked like he was dressed in his civvies--I'll have to check the Visual Dictionary to see if it mentions what kind of clothes they were (it does say it's resistance jacket). But it's just funny that it looks like they need the chest box and the helmet, but then you see him fly the TIE in a T-shirt essentially. The Visual Dictionary is kinda weird, it has an arrow pointing to Han Solo's gray hair, mentioning that it used to be brown.

He wasn't wearing the x-wing though.
Just that brown "Yavin Luke jacket" and other civilian garb.

It's like "normal" fighter pilots wearing G-suits, but the Blue Angels don't wear them to show their skill. You probably can fly in your y-fronts, but most pilots suit up for battle.
Poe was on a secret mission, so he wore his normal clothes.

They just want enough material to make a book.

The 1st visual dictionary for the original films pointed to Landos face and had "winning smile" [emoji3]

:lol
He certainly does have a winning smile. Didn't get him very far with Leia though, or with the TFA producers apparently. :p
Just going through the TFA one a little more and noticing a few other mentions of someone's "feral" hair or Poe's "tousled" hair from the helmet. Yet they have a resistance controller with an Afro and don't say anything. Missed opportunity.
Chewie had keen blue eyes, according to the book. Can't say I disagree.

Poe's black X-Wing is his "Tumbler" and the blue X-Wing at the beginning is his "lamborghini." Much less conspicuous. ;)

Speaking of Poe though I just love that even when he takes his helmet off in the Ileenium System he still has the bruises and dried blood from Kylo's interrogation at the very beginning of the film. Very nice continuity.

Maybe we'll see two BB-8's, the one with this set that just rolls and another one that rolls but where the head can also be locked into place, that can give a thumbs up, etc.

Why would Hot Toys even consider doing that? I don't see them making two different versions.
