I got my two T-800s today, what a fantastic figure.

The proportions and look of this guy is great. He really looks intimidating. Pictures don't give the battle damaged headsculpt justice. In person it has this realistic, glossy wash over his wounded eye that just looks believable in every way.

Right now I have one set up as the "regular" Tech Noir Arnold with .45 longslide in hand. I love that regular head. The other one I can't put down, I have the battle damaged arm and head on it and keep swapping hands with the rifle and surgery tools.

As with all of figures, I have a few nitpicks. The arm was a _____ to get off. I decided to heat it using a blow dryer and it STILL took some force to get it off. Then ironically, once I got the battle damaged arm in, it would pop off with ease. :dunno

It was nice that they included an undamaged arm, but really they could have just left the battle damaged arm as is since the sleeve would cover it anyway. There was really no need for two separate arms. I was thinking this as I was posing my battle damaged version and simply rolled the sleeves down and snapped it the cuffs into place.

The second issue, which is probably just on mine is the collar. It's only on one (the other is perfect) but they stitched the collar too close to the shoulder. I'm not sure why Hot Toys decided to stitch either side since it hangs naturally. I decided to just clip it and it looks and fits much better.

Last "problem" is the arm construction, preferably around the shoulders on these last two (T2 and T1, never got Dutch) Arnold figures. It feels like I'm going to break them or something. The arms move in an entirely different position than the shoulder ball joint inside, I just don't like it. One side feels a little loose, while the other is tight. After seeing those pics of someone's broken T2 arm and seeing the horrible construction of the inside of the arm in the shoulder, I've been really cautious when posing and taking off the jacket on mine.

It's ashame that the arms limit articulation movement. It's similar to the T2 T-800 in that you can't raise his arms in certain positions, it's quite bother some. Especially with such iconic weapons, like the Uzi and long slide.

Thankfully, that's all the the problems I had. No wonky eyes here. In fact, the eyes are done really well like most of Hot Toys' eyes. At first I thought one leg was longer than the other until I futzed with it a bit. It ended up being the leg positioning. In doing so I did notice that this sucker is really top heavy. It took me about 10 mins to make it stand up straight.

Speaking of poses, it's almost impossible to NOT touch the studs on the back and right elbow. One of these days I'm sure I'm going to accidentally take one off and have to glue it, ala T2 leather jacket studs.

Anyway, great figure. No pictures unfortunately (left the camera at work) but I'll have time to take some in the coming weeks. Definitely one of my favorites.

I had the same problem with the collar stitching but I was going to snip it anyway to make it look more like the pic below.
I snipped this side on both my T1s.

I even tried to simulate the way the t-shirt is getting pulled to one side.
To do this, I pulled the collar of the t-shirt to the side and wrapped an elastic band around his shoulder to keep it in place.

I agree with you about the arm construction too.
I feared I broke the arm on mine but thankfully it only loosened.
Still a shame though.

I had the same "problem" with the legs too(As I do with most figures)
This just needs to be futzed as usual as I described to that guy who thought one leg was longer than the other when actually his picture was taken wonky.

Heres his original picture
T1T800003.jpg

His vertical lines are irrelevant because he didnt take the picture "straight"...or he didnt spread the legs far enough apart.

Heres my edit.
Look at the horizontal line on the top leg.
It should be going through the middle of the leg, but because the guy didnt spread the leg apart enough, it doesnt.

Here I rotated the image so that the top leg is at the correct angle and now obviously the bottom leg has the problem.

Also note that the 2 foot pegs are the exact same size.(shown to the right of image)

Im just explaining this in case anyone else thinks its a fault of the figure.

I was just messing around with this some more and noticed something. Thought I'd add it to what I posted above.

Am I the only one who notices that this has articulation inside the neck? Not the head attached to the head mind you, I mean the neck itself, under the rubber/plastic shell skin actually tilts.

I had no idea.

That's the beauty of the new muscle bodies. They don't use rubber anymore except the thin piece over the neck and uppermost portion of the torso, limits areas for tearing and breaking down, maintains the realism of exposed areas, and allows just about the same level of articulation in the neck as a regular TT body.

The T2 body did too.

:lol You learn something new everyday. After discovering this on the T1 figure I went back and tried it on my T2, and sure enough, the joint is in there.

I guess since I didn't take the head off the T2 I just never noticed it.

Yeah I forgot to offer my condolences on the paint-glitched T-800 Maulfan. Thats very unfortunate...and for us too in a way as it means a longer wait for your pics.

Tell me about it. I'm needing to pick up the Mark IV, Scarecrow, Beat It MJ, and a second T-800. Been trying to put more into savings every month, which means a lot less to spend on toys. Tough when everything comes at once like this.

My order shipped today from RE! It's UPS Ground, I believe. And while I didn't get a tracking number this time around, it'll probably be here in a bit less than a week, judging by past experience. Friday'd be very nice. SO PUMPED!

I prefer a menacing looking terminator though, and this "punk outfit" version will always be the most menacing of all IMO.

i agree with most of what you said, but personally, i have to disagree with this. i think the punk outfit was kind of menacing, but it helped him blend into a crowd more too, so that detracts from its menacing-ness for me. to me, i think the most menacing terminator is the police station shoot-out version. he had the leather jacket, sunglasses, burnt off hair/eyebrows, and his eye cut out.

in that scene, when he's walking down the halls, getting shot at by everyone, and killing everyone with a machine gun and shotgun, each held in one arm...that's what i think as the most imposing or menacing. :lecture

also, when it's completely naked (in any movie, real arnie, or cgi), it's not quite as menacing as its other appearances :lol

He came today, but has an ugly paint slob/rub on his nose so have to wait for Sideshow to replace him which'll take a few weeks between shipping this one back to them and them shipping out the new one.

Ah man.... :slap

:( dayum

I'm not certain what the original price was for this guy but can it be had for anywhere near its retail price now? I think I want it. Dammit.

Hmmm. Again, id have to disagree.
Theres just something about that huge M45 field jacket, complete with dog chain and leather patches with studs that I find more intimidating than a tight fitting leather jacket.
And I think he looks more intimidating when he doesnt wear glasses as you can see the determined look in his eyes...same goes for the T-1000 kinda.

Have to say I'm not sure what you're trying to illustrate there.

-EDIT- Oh wait I see the collar of the vest. Can't say I would have noticed that.
i hope this time a-dev can notice it.
