Two difference Terminators.

T1 Arnie is more bad ass, raw and dangerous as the villain...

T2 Arnie is more iconic in his heroic leather garb as the good guy...

So it depends on how dangerous you like your Terminator T-800s: do you like them unstoppable, or semi-stoppable because they now know why you cry?

Oh Sean... maaaaan those pics... oh...

lol well at least youre honest.
I personally only collect figures I like the most.
I dont care how "iconic" it is to most people, its whats most iconic to me that matters, you know?

:exactly::goodpost:

And to add, it really depends on your age whether which look is more iconic. I was 12 when T1 came out so for me T1 is the more iconic look. In fact to be honest, in 91' I felt really disappointed in Arnie's look for T2, he wasn't even close to the menacing monster I was afraid of from T1. I loved the movie though and that look as since grown on me.

Edit:
And as far as the figures are concerned, they are both perfect representations of the look YOU prefer. You cannot go wrong with either one.

If you can only buy one, then it probably comes down to which character/film/look you prefer.
I have to say that the T1 has the better headsculpts though, because of the eyes looking better.
But, if you have the glasses on your T2 then that doesnt matter.

And yeah, this tech-noir version is personally the most iconic look to me.
Its what I always picture when I think of The Terminator...that, and the endoskeleton of course.
Its also my favourite look and from my favourite film.

That's crap.

T1 T-800 gets all of it's skin blown off and loses most of it's limbs and is finally destroyed by a young woman. It's defeated by humans getting caught and smashed by a machine. Some unstoppable robot.

T2 T-800 faces off against an advanced prototype T-1000 after sustaining enough damage that it needed to restart. In the end it noob tubes the ____ing T-1000, understands than value of human life, dismisses it and destroys itself by going into ____ING STEEL.

Which one is more unstoppable and dangerous, a T-800 that kills some people, gets shot up by a small police station, and is eventually destroyed by a human,

OR

A T-800 that goes up against another Terminator, has almost every police force and swat team in the area against it and decimates them single-handedly by not killing them. Then goes against another Terminator, kills it and ends up finishing off itself (not getting crushed by a little woman) and making a young boy weep?

Uncle Bob would blow a knee cap of yo ass and maybe paralyze you. The T1 T-800 would finish you off so quick, you wouldn't know what hit you.

Which is more painful and excruciating?

UNCLE BOB ALL THE ____ING WAY......

They're both equal.

Unstoppable, unreasonable killing machine for me. T2 is a great movie... but its clearly intended to be more palatable to audiences than the original.

T1: no humor + lots and lots of collateral damage = Awesome :rock

:clap Classic! End of argument right there far as I'm concerned. T1 is a slightly better film IMO but the T2 T-800 comes in for some unfair criticism.

How many people did Uncle Bob paralyze? :lol

I like T2 a lot, but I feel T-800 from that film deserves whatever criticism he receives because. . .HE'S NOT A TERMINATOR. :D

I agree... the Uncle Bob parts are very painful and excruciating to watch :lol :yess::panic:

But his inclination was to be a Terminator and kill. He was simply ordered not to. Perfectly believable in the realms of Terminator-verse even if its not what people prefer to watch.

right. ordered. by producer, director and script writer who decided that he should not kill from the very beginning of the movie because it woudn't fit that new childish comic book character.

Well, if you are gonna talk about programming, then as Fabio says--both robots are pretty much the same, and any differences is in how they are programmed to behave. But that's not really true, because, as P says, all that is variable to the needs of Cameron for his stories.

T2 T-800 was never a Terminator, even before running across John. T1 T-800 killed several people right from the get-go that the T2 version would have either knocked unconscious or simply thrown down a flight of stairs or something.

Hey, he was the good guy, good guys always win. If it was the other way around, say T-1000 being the protector and 800 being the bad guy, I'm sure T1000 would have come out on top. So really fault lies in Skynet's manufacturing, unstoppable being false advertising :wink1:.

By the way, the reason a young woman finished off the terminator was because an experienced fighter from the future, having had considerable amount of experience fighting those machines practically did most of the work for her. Thus, it wouldn't be hard to finish it off considering where she was, and the fact that she had already bumped into that crusher beforehand. In any case, police was pathetic in both movies. However, it goes back to my point that good guys always win, no matter how obsolete they are (T3).

The T1 killed one of the punks for sure - the other two are no more certain kills than the guy the T2 stole his clothes off. We don't see him killing them. Maybe he did maybe he didn't. T1 killed the gunshop owner, OK. T2 was willing and was going to kill one of the jocks. :dunno

as for the realworld reason for the T2s non-kill policy - Did not the T-1000 make up for it? He stabbed a guy through the mouth with a giant sword-arm, and another guy through the eye - not exactly kid-friendly stuff. So I don't buy that argument against T2 either.
