I thought it was Lance Henriksen.. :huh

He method trained with fake metal teeth, & Cameron even did art work of him with the battle damaged look.

Which would have fit in with the original idea that the T-800's aren't big hulking machines, but built to look like average size people.

Cameron went ahead and casted a smaller guy as the T-1000.

:exactly:

Perfect answer.

To quote Cameron. The T-800's were Panzer Tanks while the 1000 series were supposed to be like a Porsche.

I love watching the Extras on all the T2 stuff. I still have my metal cover from my Ultimate edition DVD from like 2000. They packed so much stuff on there, it was amazing.

I think Skynet built all sorts of different sizes for different purposes. Since Cameron scrapped his original idea and Cast Arnold, it makes sense that Skynet would send "The Porsche" next. Easier to blend in.

It's Ironic that Lance went on to play Bishop in Aliens. Speaking of which, he needs a Hot Toys!

Im almost sure that both the T800 and T100 were sent through at exactly the same time by Skynet...but they were just sent to two different time periods.
Remember that Reese said he blew the whole place after he went through..."Nobody goes home...nobody else comes through."

:lol
On a side note, I used to think the T-800 was called a T-100 for some reason!:monkey4

Its because of the way the T-800 refers to itself as Model 101 - and doesn't mention ''T-800'' at all. Its always kinda bothered me actually. Why would it only refer to its flesh cover? Kyle Reese too, he calls it a '101', a meaningless number to Sarah Connor which doesn't even say what type of machine it is. He mentions the ''600 series'' so why not call this one what it is - the 800.

And that's probably one of many things that drives Cameron crazy about T1 looking back :lol

Drives me nuts he calls himself the 101 in T2. Model 101 is only the flesh model right?

I love the bit in T1, after the TechNoir shootout, Sarah is in the car with Reese and says
' how could that man get up after you'

Reese:
' Not a man, a machine a Terminator, Cyber Dynamics Model 101'

Then Reese goes into more detail and Sarah is like what have you been smoking.

T3 makes it worse - he says ''that was a different T-101''

Now the reference to the flesh cover was relevant there because John apparently needed clarification that this Arnie looking Terminator was not the exact same Uncle Bob he knew before. Still though, saying T-101 is confusing when you've got a Terminator that everyone knows as the T-1000 in T2. ''Wow, 101, that's waaaaay less advanced than the T-1000''

When I was a kid I made that mistake.

obviously 101 has nothing to do with flesh cover, especially because a) humans don't know those numbers and b) if Reese knew what terminator looked like he wouldn't have to wait until it acts.
but that doesn't mean anything to internet specialists who never need any movie material for writing their encyclopedias, wikipedias and other pedias ) they read one word from a director who is not even the only script writer and repeat it over and over, no matter how against the movie it is.
