I would have to completely disagree.
I am not 100% sold on this figure. I really want to like it, but something is off with the regular head's likeness. IMHO the miss is with the proportions of the Brow line, Cheek bones, Cheeks, and the chin...something is off.
.
Just curious, i've never ordered from onesixthbruce before, when do they usually get their stock? Is it much later than sideshow and the other retailers?
It's not your fault as there was a lot of disinformation about this release. For one the screen caps that were posted around the time it came out were completely false, as I paused at the very same scenes to compare them.
Also here are reviews which show that the Skynet version has a better picture as well as a ton more extras.

I like grain too, I got my Gladiator changed, and I now hate what they did to Predator, but to say Terminator 2 is ruined by DNR is simply not true, because most reviews state that picture is sharper than the previous Blu-Ray. Yes there is room for improvement, but the facts are this is the best way to see Terminator 2 at the moment

IDK i guess I'm spoiled by Trevor Grove's T-800 PF sculpt...or maybe it's because I'm not a Hot Toys collector...but the likeness it not 100% there. It's about 75-80% there on the regular sculpt (similar to the T-1000 head sculpt)...it's close but no cigar.
$200 for a 12" figure, the likeness on the regular head should be closer than it is.
You know what was awesome? When the Terminator walks into Tech Noir and walks past the cashier who says "Hey, that guy didn't pay!" When the bouncer puts his hand on Arnold's shoulder, Arnold casually reaches back and crushes the bouncer's hand and you hear the bones break. That is why this figure is a must.
While I don't agree with you (at all really) I can definitely see where you're coming from.
Back when the T2 T-800 specs and pics came out I was also thought something is off. When I got it hand it was a little better but every now and then I still sit there thinking "hmm, what's it missing".
Of course to everyone else I looked like I was nuts, but whatever, it was my opinion.
This figure however is fantastic, in my eyes. I'm not sure what you find wrong with it, but I respect your opinion I'm sure your criticisms are valid ones. I totally get where you're coming from. Keep in mind, these are just pictures, things really do get better once you have them in hand. I have yet to see a photographer, even the guys that work with Hot Toys replicate the figure as it is in person.
I know most people like them, but I hate pictures like these,
It just doesn't seem flattering to me. Our eyes don't pick up that much detail. I agree with the grey, "dead", sandpaper look that these shots give off.
But in hand, totally different. Pics like these are fantastic,
There's no doubt in my mind that this will be one of my favorite figures in my collection, and I have ALOT of figures.
That really bothers me. I was a cashier once and knowing that this character has been rude to cashiers makes me not want to buy it...
Yea, right. PO'd from SSC using points. I was going to burn the pts on HT Barney Ross, but waited. Glad I did.
They take close-up head shots because our eyes do perceive that level of detail on a real life person. Thusly those photos are intended to show off the level of realism HT can achieve. Looks like a real person.
I for one love those photos.

i think he was talking about not picking up all that detail on the figure itself, not a real person lol
we DO pick up that detail, yes, but it looks BETTER when seeing it in person due to not being so zoomed in.
does Hot Toys do 18" or 24" figures these would look great if they can make them these size in the fugure.
I have 20/20 vision and the sculpts never come off as that grainy and detailed in my hands. It's almost like blu ray, I think there's such a thing as being "too detailed". Sometimes less is more. It reminds me of when I had to get a slight change in my prescription at the optometry when I younger. Only a few notches up in scale and I would get disoriented going outside because everything was TOO detailed. Do we need to see every pebble in the cement? No.
You must be ____ing Superman. Quick, what color underwear am I wearing?
This figure will be fine though. I have zero complaints. To those that have them, whatever. Doesn't affect me.
Yeah, exactly.
What underwear?
