Yeah, Cameron really is a great filmmaker. Some people crap on True Lies, but I thought even it was fun. Love Paxton's character in it.
Clearly, some filmmakers are just good, no matter what. I would add Spielberg to that list. But I think there's another example where the bigger the scale, the lesser the product in many cases. AI and War of the Worlds didn't have nearly the impact that Close Encounters or ET did, for example.
I agree on both accounts. I love True Lies. And that was Paxtons best performance as far as I'm concerned. It's not Cameron but I also really enjoyed Last Action Hero. It was fun and tongue in cheek. Plus, Charles Dance is just so ****ing awesome in anything he is in. "If God was a villain, he'd be me. "
And yeah, ET/CEOTTK> AI/WW all day long. I didn't really even like WW. AI was only OK but too long I thought. At least that's what I remember of it.
And I don't need to tell you, T2>T1.
