I had a few too many drinks the other night and ended up ordering Thor from BBTS.

I'm not sure where I am going to put him yet. I tried sticking him in my Iron Man display, but he looked really bad under the bright LED lights, whereas it makes the armored figures look better. I am trying to clear off another shelf for 1/6 scale figures. Until I am able to do that, Thor is sitting in his box, and this is on my desk at work:

The Avengers look does nowt for me.

When Odin pulled the disc off of Thors vest in the movie, all of the scale mail came off of his arms.

The new costume appears to lack the top discs, I'm thinking this is part of his battle armor. When he goes to war, discs go on and the scale mail forms around his arms, and arse kicking begins.

My guess is that it was there first mission as a team and things went really bad, maybe someone on the team is being held hostage or got severely hurt.

I have to say that I'm starting to like this look more and more...

In The Art of Thor, it says that this costume is a relax/training costume for Thor. At first they planned a scene where he wears it, but it didn't make the film. I guess they chose to use the design in The Avengers... Now the question is, will it still be the training costume, or have they decided to use it as the main battle armor... I'm thinking this will be the former, it'll maybe see some battle, but I'm guessing we'll either see the original armor (or a slight variation thereof) as well

That might be the case and its probably why in the promo shots, we have his original Thor outfit.

Maybe the original outfit from the movie is like his royal battle outfit.
One of the rumors I read is that that red piece of cloth sticking out of Thor's back at the pic above of sleeveless thor is his actual cape which pops out when he goes to battle.

And maybe the sleeves would be like IM mark 5 special effects where it will cover his arms cgi style.

I believe you are right about the cape, Remy! I could also see this armor change into his regular battle armor with the mail arms and stuff.

I really like this new look a lot to be honest i would be cool if he is sleeveless the whole time. In the trailer where i think he is possibly fighting the hulk he is sleeveless and i like the darker colour
