I also was dissapointed when i saw the movie for the first time , but after more views it gets better , because i started to notice more details from this movie , now i think this movie is very good.
Extended cut is indeed better , especially the scene with Jon Hamm.
Ur hope lies in seeing the details of the movie (assuming that u didn't), the extended cut can help u with this.
Or maybe this movie is just not for u.
I've been getting my HT figures from SSC (Sideshow Collectibles) & most of my pre orders are with them. I like the reward points system, & their shipping prices are actually good (I think they have a deal with FedEx or something ). It cost around $25 for Iron Man (Secret Project) & around $35 for Spiderman
If I see an item I have for pre order with SSC, on ebay, released earlier & for a better price, then I might purchase from there instead
BE VERY CAREFUL on any eBay auctions that are Pre-Orders. The expected Delivery date on this auction is Oct 6-7... If it gets delayed, and then if goes past the 45 days, PayPal will deny you a refund. There is only a 45 day window, and Oct 6-7 is getting awfully close to that 45 day window. So just be careful
I have bought my figure everytime on eBay, had never problems. But I check always a new seller I don't know. I search in forums etc. Now I have my trusted sellers where I preorder
I am still trying to figure out what is comming out in October and Novermber somthing has got to give still have superman,Captin america, 2 sucker punch figures, Jack sparrow, 2 hunter figures, Indy and Avatar to come in all this year I dont see how this will happen something is getting pushed back.
there are too many figs will be released on November according to HT japan.
I think some will be push forward and hopefully its babydoll
most likely will be impossible are Indy and Jack will get the november release date.
Just watched the movie, some questions/observations...
1. There was three realities.
The real world where Dr Gorski (Carla) runs the mental hospital and Blue is an orderly.
The first imaginary reality, where the institution is a front for a brother/club and Blue is the owner.
The third reality where the girls quest for the items.
2. The events of the movie shunt from the real world once Baby sits in the lobotomy chair to the 1st imaginary reality, and moves in and out of the third as they go for the items, the real-life events of getting the items and using them take place in the real world off-screen.
I think the lobotomy takes place after the montage upon entering the asylum but the events of the film take place during the montage.
I loved the film. People may not say its deep but i think it is, if the story of Baby and the girls in a dingy Asylum was filmed at face value, stealing an orderly's lighter, photocopying a map and stealing a knife, it would be over quickly and be boring.
Going into the other realities gives the quest for these items more excitement.
The film starts off very emotional, gets actionery during and when it comes towards the end i was shocked at...
The deaths and change in tone and story to Sweat Pea and the sacrifice needed to set her free, after being the reason Rocket died, having Baby sacrifice herself to set Sweat Pea free was very deep
I think this was a great blend of Action & Drama, as the film progressed i got somewhat bored by the jumping in and out of action scenes, but at exactly the right time it brought back the drama to really give the punch of the film.
I read about the lobotomy in the this thread, and was bummed, thinking the end was ruined, but knowing now that Baby Doll sacrificed herself to save Sweat Peaand rid herself of her memories gave meaning to this and made you okay with the ending.
And the music as did the effects. I loved the Baby's dancing was done off-screen leaving it to the viewer to fell how sensual it must be (like old-fashioned monster movies, leaving it to the imagination)
My only gripe would be that during the first action scene Baby was kicked about alot without showing any signs of injury. I understand this was done to showcase the modern action filmmaking showing indestructible humans, but it took away the sense of danger the character was in.
I have Baby Doll on order, may get Amber now, Ah hell! I want them all from Hot Toys, but especially Sweat Pea and Rocket
