I've resigned myself to the fact that I probably will pick this guy up, still pisses me off how wrong the cape is though

No it doesn't and that's the problem, the cape on the figure looks really thin whereas in the film it's clearly a thick velvet material. Also needs to be more of a blood red colour rather than the bright red this and the last figure had

The upper right corner of the picture above looks thick to me, but granted, it could 'look' heavier. I'll give you the colour, it could certainly be a deeper red. Hopefully that red-orange colour is a result of the photography and it will look better in-hand.
