Exactly what purpose does wanting, pre-ordering or even buying a figure, and then giving no feedback whatsoever, actually achieve anyway? :dunno

The pre-ordering and/or buying of a figure is in and of itself positive feedback: if it were that awful, collectors would refrain from either.

I am waiting to see what happens with Thor before I do either.

That said, I do feel that a little cry-babying is going on in here. To me, the figure is instanty recognizable as Thor - not Leonard DiCaprio, not Tom Cruise... I see *Thor*, perhaps that is just my poor taste. I want to see if the figure will be amended to something i dont like, before i order.

I too have it pre-ordered, but I do think that they could do some work on it, to improve it. I mean, who knows...they might even be scheduling it in anyway...?

I think the "I cannot stand the sculpt so I am not going to buy it" on an otherwise excellent figure like THOR is more cry-babying than asking questions of a company I have already shifted the best part of $2100 to.

Just FYI guys (from my experiences) when Hot Toys replies

Thanks for your great support to Hot Toys.

Your suggestion and comment on the Thor and Captain America from Avengers will be forwarded to our production team as a reference.

Please keep visit our Facebook page to get our most updated news.

What they generally seem to mean is...

[Say something nice to make them feel like their E-Mail will actually be read in full and taken into actual consideration.]

Your suggestion and comment on the [Insert whatever product the E-Mailed about] from [Whatever License they E-Mailed about] will [not] be forwarded to our production team as a reference.

Please keep visit our Facebook page [where we'll ignore customers] to get our most updated news about our [mostly same] franchises.

Best Regards

It's safer to assume nothing will come from our concerns or a straight answer when it comes to Hot Toys :(

I dont at all question your right to ask questions of HT, DGT. Please do - if they answer, I'd be interested to know what they said.

What kind of bugs me is some of the bellyaching we have seen in this thread, which strikes me as out of proportion to the figure in question. its like if he has a slight frown, a lot of people go completely off the rails. Whut....?

Oooh you terrible cynic you!

Sadly the thing about terrible cynics is that eventually, they get heralded as 100% accurate fortune tellers :wink1:

Well i've sent my fair share of E-Mails and gotten the same reply

It's funny i once E-Mailed asking if they had the license for all MGS games or just MGS3 and they replied with the same "we'll forward it to our production team" brush off :cuckoo:

S'Okay, Ramatuelle...I did not take any offence. And I have in recent days, posted that we are perhaps expecting a bit too much perfection in our head sculpts of recent times.

It's silly, are we really becoming that spoilt? :lol

I am guessing Flexpay works for UK customers too? Really tempted with the Thor and Captain America that are out later this year. Although the current Captain America looks quite good too! This collecting business can be a real dilemma can't it:gah::gah:

I think Hot Toys sends out a generic email in reply to concerns about scuplts and possible improvements cause they probbaly get hoards each day. Writing an individual response to each email would probbaly be a waste of time.

They probbaly keep track of concerns and suggestions on the figures though, just to gauge how customers think of the product.

They are a business selling luxury toys after all. Any successful business knows they need to please their customers and give them what they want in order to keep the cash rolling in.

I think Thor does look pretty close to Chris Hemsworth though, not perfect, but close.

Flexpay and being a collector in the UK = EPIC win!!

SSC added Flex to their arsenal a good few years ago now, but when they went into business with HT is possibly one of the most helpful things to happen.

On pre-order at the moment, I have Medicom's Darth Maul, Hawkeye, Thor, Captain America and Loki. When Black Widow, HULK of course and even possibly Iron Man hit P.O. I shall get them on the list too.

Likewise the BATMAN RETURNS line, and Bane and Catwoman from DKR. All Flexed. I would not be able to work the budget without it

So far, I like the look of this figure and look forward to receiving one when they're released. The head sculpt has been under some debate but its likeness is still fantastic! If HT decides to tweek it, I'm okay with it! If they don't, I okay with that too! Its still an awesome toy!

As for brother Loki on the other hand, its like HT ripped him right out of the movie! :horror

the new pics that hot toys posted on fb show thor in a new light... looks a little better in those pics to me.
