It looks like the old sculpt has an open mouth as well (especially in the gif above).

But hey, I don't profess to be an expert here and I haven't really studied this sculpt so it could very well be different. Not quite as dramatic as the smiling Jack sculpt becoming smirking Jack, but I guess it must be different if you guys say so.

Me too so far. Not only bcuz I don't like this figure tho
I am not a big fan of "The Avengers" design - too bright, colorful and much less medieval.
Maybe "Thor 2" will make it for me, who knows...

Yep. Especially in Loki's case - he's too bulk and this tiny head not helpin'

We can't know the truth therefore any discussion of this would be just purely pointless.

I didn't panic because I knew HT routinely tweeks their products before release. I never get too excited about errors on the prototypes

While Loki is still the best of the bunch, at least now Thor's sculpt is in the same league.

Sorry. I don't see the difference either.

Lighting looks like the only difference. And HT didn't say it was a different sculpt. All they said was that it was new. They could have meant new compared to the first Thor movie version. Sounds like a marketing plot to me. I know you guys are so ready to give up your credit card numbers and believe its different and looks better but I'm not convinced.

I wasn't getting it anyway. I hope it truly does improve for those that are getting it. I'll need a lot more convincing that it's different than a better lighted picture.

Personally I was fine with the so-called "old sculpt" so excitement for me hasnt come or gone, and regardless of how many gifs & side-by-side pics are posted it still looks the same to me, only the lighting looks different.

...But then again as Ive said before, Im not really into seeing Hemsworth as THOR so guess thats why Im not really catching all the hype.

I still believe all of this is placebo, marketing tool.

Thor is nice but i will only be getting iron man, hulk and possibly black widow depending on the sculpt. i will get all the others with their next movies.

For those who still think it is the same sculpt with different lighting look at the changing gif and watch the tips of the hair on his shoulder on the right side(not right shoulder). It clearly is a different sculpt.
