If any future toys look as good as the recent HS update, then I'll be getting them all! A sleeveless version but be cool too, but I'm glad they went with the Avengers costume they choose. Its my favorite look so far.

But you won't be alone.:hi5:

I mean how cool would a Chris Hemsworth Thor be with a big, burly beard? It would make a great figure, I can see it now. Two head sculpts, one clean shaven, one with a thick beard, both with extra hair pieces to wear his helmet. You would have the whole gamut of Thor looks (well from the neck up) with that. Come Marvel, you want to change costumes to sell more toys, give us some extra variety.

just seen the new sculpt and seeing it has now made this figure a must buy for me :D

That's pretty much how I felt, even after they showed the modified sculpt. To me this just captures Hemsworth better, he's a very attractive guy and the Avengers version just seems to miss that. Likeness can be weird from figure to figure I guess.

Just saw the new pics of Thor (stupid Facebook only updates :lol I'm on their press mailing list and they didn't even bother sending the update to that way :slap )

Can't say I'm impressed. He needs a lot more work still. I think its time to pass it on to another sculptor. Kojun is sucking it up with Thor.

Yes, well... A better option would be if we can actually kill Chris, shrunk his head and then put it on a HT body...

But you probably would still cry like a ____ing baby saying "is not close enough"...

I'm not one of those cry baby types. But this has been the first HT figure in a long time where I just don't see any resemblance to the actor. This is just a guy at SDCC with a great Thor costume, not Chris Hemsworth. And considering how nice BW and Loki turned out, they need to up their game on the rest.

In my opinion we need this Thor...

It seems like the moment someone has an issue with a figure, you attack them. Does HT have you by the balls making you do this?

For some reason I like the original sculpt a lot better! Is anyone with me?

I bought the v1 THOR because I liked it, face sculpt included. It's not the best paint application I have ever seen, but it is a decent attempt. The hair may look a bit odd but if you have seen the film, you will know what they were going for.

THOR v1 owners stand proud! YAY us, fellas!

Fellas...? :huh :crying

I couldn't agree more. I want to like him, and it's not bad, but it's just not there. I've had time to look at it and make comparisons, and I'm just not feeling it. I prefer the "Thor" version. I think they altered the wrong parts of the sculpt, it's like they changed was what good about the first sculpt and didn't address what was actually wrong (aside from the forehead, thankfully).

..which is why I went and bought the Thor version yesterday. Now I'm a proud owner too! The face sculpt is much closer to how Hemsworth actually looks, and at least the head is decently proportionate to the body. The Avengers version needs a lot of work, and I hope it gets it.

Thats funny I have the opposite opinion I think the Thor version was very weak and not at all proportioned right, scrawny looking legs, biker looking boots and matted hair that just screams trailer trash!

The Avengers version is too pinheaded, the Thor version isn't as bad, even though it's skinnier. I'm changing the body out though, lol. The thing is, with the Thor version there is room to increase his size some, at least. Whereas the Avengers version you go bigger he becomes more pinheaded, lol. Still, I like both, I just prefer the first version. Which is a shame, b/c by logic Hot Toys should do much better a second time around.
