I always figured the first movie would feature a "proto-suit", something that would evolve into the more traditional costume. Glad I held off on the 1st HT version, and I can grab the new suit...sometime in 2016...

since it is still 3 years away...

I agree with Rory, nice suit but it's pretty much the same as the Maguire one

I'm torn as to whether they even needed to do a new suit, on one hand I can understand the natural progression from the suit in the first film but then on the other is it too much to ask for just to keep it the same? I guess money talks :dunno

The eyes look fantastic. Makes it more classic Spidey to me. I liked the new design from the first movie (aside from the shoes) but if I were going to buy one 'definitive' SM that one would not be it (would look great as part of a series, but I don't need more than one representation). I held off on the Raimi ones, too, but could see picking this version up down the road.

The maguire one was practically a perfect Film representation of a spidey suit. The fact that this takes that and improves on it, (as long as the lower body is not messed around too much) is reason to love it. Amazing.

Yep, agreed, Snake Eater. Really glad they went with that classic shape for the eyes and matte white, as opposed to the reflective Oakley's look like in the last four movies.

The new suit IS spider-man. That's the way spiderman has looked for 25 years since McFarlane drew him that way. Bravo. Love it. Also the head shape is most reminiscent of comic spidey much more than Raimi's spiderman's headshape.

I loved how Spidey looked in SM, SM-II and SM-III.

I loved how he looked in ASM, because they had tweaked the design, made it new and fresh but still kept it quintessentially 'Spiderman'.

This to me, and being within the framework of this 'new Spidey' universe, is a step backwards.

So long as the movie is good, I don't care WHAT the suit looks like (within reason, of course). I wasn't 100% sold on the suit from Amazing until I saw the film. Now, it's my favorite version of the suit. Sometimes you need to see the suit in action before passing judgement.

:lecture agree with that completely!

Whilst it looks great, I am really disappointed! It's a new take on Spidey so why go back :(

Yup, it looks real (unless it's sophisticated shop job) and looks like a tired rethread of Maguire's costume. Guess they lost their ***** with the second film. Looks horrible apart from the eyes IMO..

Looks good! But what was wrong with the latest version? Translated well to the MMS toy IMO. :dunno

aside from the eyes it's a big step backward. this is exaclty what i didn't want to happen. The haters moaned and *****ed about the ASM costume so they went back to a costume that doesn't belong in a reboot. it pleases the haters and ****s over the fans.

^
^Amazing across the board labelling there. I was not the biggest lover of the new suit but that makes me not a spidey fan because I prefer the look of this?

I'm just pissed that they copied the old trilogy. The material and patterns are even the same. If it at least didn't have raised webbing or the blue to red line was shaped like the ASM one and not also a copy, or just something other than the logo and eyes was unique to itself

Every time they tweak the costume, be it in the books or movies/TV, it'll always go back to the iconic look. His costume has been a version of this design for 60 years. The ASM suit was Spidey's version of the New Goblin extreme sports costume bull****. I loved Ben Riley's take on the suit when Peter retired, because although new and fresh, it still was a representation of the original. Hell, even Nolan's Batman/Joker/Bane were all fresh designs, without losing iconic looks.
