Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: HULK

It's not about the quality of rubber. It comes down to chemistry. Almost all polymers will degrade badly over time. The chemical composition of polymers are such that oxidation (or light and heat exposure) will severely break down the chemical bonds holding the material together. Polymers will naturally harden and become brittle the longer you have it. Then add forcibly changing the rubber shape as it ages and you have accelerated deterioration.

Maybe cutting edge rubber can have a slower degradation time, but the cost will go up. I think from a material point of view, this is HT's best option at this time. Personally, for this reason I'd rather see a sacrifice in articulation than have a rubber arm to cover up the joints.

I agree and these aren't toys one really plays with, Id be happy if it was just changeable arms. ____ that I will be furious if I bought this and it started cracking after a couple of years. Just NOT worth the risk IMO. Plus it sounds by some to be a major pain in the *** to get them to replace and over time limited quantities and they aren't even available so you are thereby screwed.

Any way to protect it? I'm already using a thermostat in all my cubicles to make sure the temp is regulated and all lighting is LED-based so there's almost no heat from that; any other way you can think to protect the rubber even further?

Hair trimmed and also the head has been lowered.

lowering the head really improves the proportions, for something so simple it really makes it look more like the Hulk in the movie. Hope HT take note of this.

He's suppose to be a compact not have a long neck. Makes his torso and back look bigger too which i love.

:rock:rock:rock

I'm pumped on this guy! Looks f___in' awesome. These are the first pics that I can see the seems clearly so I guess change out hands are for sure. I hope to hell there will be a second sculpt. But this one is killer. First good toothy sculpt so far. This thing is gonna be $375+ :slap

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: HULK

Great looking, but there's a trade off. Having suck large trapezius muscles, pushing his head further down, severely limits his head articulation. But I do agree, that small change, makes him look even more like an idealized Hulk.

In the same interview, they said Black Widow's hair would be sculpted. And the knees have joints, a few pic show the joint line similar to the Berserker Pred.
True. So it was probably a poor translation. They probably said Black Widow wouldn't have sculpted hair and Hulk wouldn't use rubber at all :monkey1

This just had to be good ! I was looking at the smaller hulk today and nearly got one at 25 bux, but hey, who am I kidding, I want this ht version. Thanks for the photos !

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: HULK

Yeah, modified neck looks better.
