Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: HULK

It's actually the Hasbro Gamma Strike Hulk figure head, it's a pointless figure but the head is really nice and it's 10" scale so it works nicely with the Marvel Select body.

Overall, I like the Select figure the most of my Avengers Hulk figures, it's just a great looking piece, it's size gives it a strong presence and I especially like that he has two fist hands where most Hulk figures, including the Walmart Hulk, have one open hand and one fist. If you can snag the Walmart one for retail or close to it, it's a lot of fun and you can pose it far more than the Select Hulk, but overall, if you've got the Select, you have the best in my book.

Thanks, I may get it for my son since he wants to use my MS Hulk to smash something :lol I saw that gamma Hulk at target but didn't because its the same price as the MS Hulk.

I know a WM nearby my work that is getting a shippment in, and I'm calling them every morning for it

Maul

is that center Hulk the MS that replaced this one, I'm kinda confused now (doesn't take much, wife said if I was a girl I would be a blonde one) :lol

Also, the stock head isn't too shabby either.

That was my favorite Hulk figure until the Avengers Hulk was released.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: HULK

Oh yeah, you're right Maul, when you see them closeup like that, I agree about the Hasbro head being better.

He still is my favorite Hulk darkknight.

He was based off this statue:

I guess it's time to purchase the new MS Avengers Hulk and do a head swap. :rock

Excluding shipping cost, my bash cost a total of $35, you can't go wrong.

As for the other Marvel Select Hulk, it is a very impressive figure, but the look of Hulk doesn't do anything for me so I never go it. I'm not a fan of the more modern Hulks where his body is massive and his head is almost the size of a regular person's, just looks strange to me.

Like these.

This is my kind of Hulk.

Which Avengers is very similar to. However, as nice as Avengers Hulk is and all it's similarites to classic design, this is still BADASS.

I'd buy Norton Banner too if he came dressed like the poster.

Mainly because it's as close to a Bill Bixby Banner figure as we'll ever get.

Yeah I always respected their intention with Nortons Hulk. I love that Bixby ____, it was the highlight of my childhood.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: HULK

I would buy a BB Banner in a gamma beat.

I used to feel so sorry for him when he walked away alone. :(

lol at small headed Hulks.

Oh well, we'll never see that or a TIH Hulk, so back to reality, where's our Avengers Hulk HT. :lol

The Lonely Man theme is one of my most favorite pieces fo TV/Movie music, Joe Harnell did great with that piece. I loved that it was worked into the score for TIH. And while it wasn't the exact theme, even the music when Bruce is walking in the rain to leave town is similar to it and had that feel. You can really tell that Leterrier is a big fan of the old show.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: HULK

Well if you're thinking of it to get Hulk in scale to the other characters at 3 3/4", way too big.

Here are my 4 Hulks, taken before the head swap.

A8.jpg

The smallest one is from the 3 3/4" line, far left is Walmart, it's an 8" figure so way too big. Avengers Hulk is about 9-10 feet tall so should be about 1.5 times the size of the others..

Nah, based on your picture there, if that little hulk is 4 inches, he looks perfect. my personal scale, u use the marvel legends icons hulk with regular legends.
I like Hulk HUGE.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: HULK

Same for me with the TV show.

TIH connection to the show though felt forced, the empathy just wasn't there for me, Norton tried, Leterrier tried, but it didn't reach the level it needed to be at for me.

So now I watch it as an Avengers connection movie instead of a lonely Bruce Banner movie.

Not that I feel more pity for Ruffalo Banner, neither reached BB Banner for me.

But their Hulks sure were bad ass! :lol

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: HULK

That's the thing for me with Ruffalo, people are giving him all sorts of praise, I just feel like he didn't have enough screen time to make any real impression. He certainly wasn't bad or it would have been enough time to make the choice, but nowhere near enough time to really decide where he ranks with me among Bana, Bixby and Norton. I will say, one thing I did dislike was the weird hair he had going in the begining, he just looked stupid everytime he was on screen, he looked more normal in the end.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: HULK

Yeah, Ruffalo is getting a ton of love no doubt.

I agree, not enough screen time to fully judge.

That being said, what screen time he did have he played a decent enough Banner for me, just as good as Norton with alot less screen time.

I'm willing to give him another chance. :lol

Regarding the hair, it's time for a bald Banner. :lol

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: HULK

I'm fine with him being in the next film featuring Hulk as well, just not at a point where I can say I look forward to it or not, just not against it. With Norton, I had hoped to see him again.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: HULK

I've been trying to place Norton in Avengers, it might've worked.

Ruffalo really had very few lines.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: HULK

I think Ruffalo was the first of the recent 3 Banners that I could see as actually being a scientist. Didn't quite buy Banna or Norton as the geek type. Ruffalo as perfect as that and had that neverous-all-the-time quality to him. It also helps him that The Other Guy was awesome in this as well.

I think you can easily swap the two. Their acting style feels similar, at least in this role. If Norton were in it....

...I can see the part where he lashes out at Black Widow going the same with the shouting and then the smiling and all after.

I do think Ruffal seemed uncomfortable with some of the science stuff, he sounds a bit like he's thinking "wtf am I saying" when he speaks those lines.

How cool would it have been in Avengers if...

...right when Banner changes to Hulk for the end fight, it was Norton and they did it just like the end of TIH with him smiling up at that big thing and Hulking out. That's actually the only thing with Hulk I didn't like in Avengers, every other Hulk out before that seemed harsh and traumatic for Banner to go through, but that Hulk out was like instantaneous and didn't make sense with the others.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: HULK

I was led to believe that because he was smiling at the end of TIH, that it was going to be less traumatic as well.

I wish Banner had asked about Betty in Avengers though, but they had already squeezed in Jane. :lol

Or Thunderbolt, who I took clearly as "other interestest parties".

That's the only thing with the Avengers tie in from TIH, it was so early on, I don't think they had the plot laid out, I think they were setting up for Stark to be a bigger part of the Avengers and not rejected, and Hulk would be a target, not a component. "What if I told you we were putting a team together." I take that scene as Stark offering the Avengers to help Ross catch and stop the Hulk. Avengers implies SHIELD trying that, but still, the connection between both films is loose, I did appreciate that TIH was at least acknowledged in Avengers.

I saw it as on the carrier he was fighting the hulk out, at the end he just let it go.
