Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: HULK

I saw it as on the carrier he was fighting the hulk out, at the end he just let it go.

I can users tabs it being less of a struggle for that reason but I feel like the other Hulk outs better convey a 6 foot scrawny dude changing into a 9 foot behemoth. Even if you embrace it, your body is still undergoing harsh, sudden change.

:goodpost: :clap

Thank you!
Now im more determined to complete the whole team..
it'll be cheaper in the long run too, if you think about it

:hi5:

The more people I talk to about avengers the more I hear how they like the new guy as apposed to the last one cause he was funnier and what not. But if you think about it, the first two hulk movies banner had little reaction or acting with other people because he was always on the run. A scared fugitive if you will.

In the avengers, Banner was seen as a consultant or collaborator. Much more freedom for jokes and camaraderie. I feel that if Norton would have done avengers he would have done it justice so I don't think it's a question of who the actor was. It's more the situations and context of the movies that make people like an actor as a character.

Or Thunderbolt, who I took clearly as "other interestest parties".

That's the only thing with the Avengers tie in from TIH, it was so early on, I don't think they had the plot laid out, I think they were setting up for Stark to be a bigger part of the Avengers and not rejected, and Hulk would be a target, not a component. "What if I told you we were putting a team together." I take that scene as Stark offering the Avengers to help Ross catch and stop the Hulk. Avengers implies SHIELD trying that, but still, the connection between both films is loose, I did appreciate that TIH was at least acknowledged in Avengers.

that's exactly what I was expecting for an Avengers movie at first, but it's clear they abandoned that. Pretty sure they have written off TIH at this stage, even Coulson's brief recap of Banner's backstory was completely different.

I don't care, I prefer Ruffalo anyway. And I can see them reusing that original storyline for a future Avengers outing.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: HULK

Not bad, but I had a feeling from a front view the scrawny midsection of the roto figure would be apparent.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: HULK

that custom is awesome, the detail is all there, the face, the pants, and the chest hair :lol hats off to the man who made that hulk :)

Banner does mention breaking Harlem though.

If you watch the Marvel short film with Coulson it is pretty clear that they a not doing away with thE TIH. Stark was a patsy to ensure the General would not give them the Abomonation. The WSC wanted him on the team but Fury and SHIELD did not.

I didn't buy that lame short movie explanation on Abomination/General Ross.

I really believed at the end of TIH that Stark meant they were forming a team to go after Hulk.

Oh well, the Hulk came in peacefully.

Yup, as funny as that short was it was clearly an attempt to make up for the continuity problems.

What if Fury sent Stark to Ross to get him to back off? As if to say we have people who can handle your unique problem so now this is our jurisdiction. Natasha did say Shield kept certain parties at bay.

More overquoting, pleeeeeeeeeease.

Well, yeah, I think that's what they implied happened.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: HULK

And that doesn't really sound retconned or fabricated. It sounds perfectly plausible.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: HULK

In the end it works enough, but not the way I took it in 2008, I thought the move of the scene from after the credits to the last scene of the movie was to make it more tied to Ross's pursuit and Stark being anti Super Soldier just comes to gloat that he can help Ross where he failed with the Super Soldier syrum.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: HULK

This is probably my most longed for toy! I always wanted a cool Hulk toy since I've been a fan of the character since the mid 70's when I was reading the comics that costs only 30 cents back then. After that, came the cool TV series which had some really great writing IMO.

I hated the Ang Lee Hulk Movie and TIH was okay. I was very happy and pleased with the performance of Ruffalo in the Avengers film and praying they give him a Hulk movie of his own!

Anyhow, I'm hoping HT keeps this figure's price fairly reasonable. I'm dying to see the big reveal and place my order! :wink1:
