I just saw this figure in hand at my cousin's house while he was un-boxing it and we both weren't really blown away by this figure. I'm not saying the figure is flat out crap but my expectations were a bit too high for this figure but overall it's an OK figure just not extraordinary. I also noticed a severe lack of battle damage detail when comparing the promo pics and the final in hand figure. I think the saving grace for this figure is the RDJ helmet sculpt if you ask me.

Really? Why would you spend all that money on something just to look at the box? What happens when the batteries leak while in the box?

Are you a flipper?

Actually I am not, all the collectables I have I tend to keep as mint as possible but all have been opened and displayed. My reasoning Is the dam pinky panty issue. My mk6 got this and I don't want it to happy to this chappy.

thank you all for the pictures and videos (they are all amazing), I get mine yesterday, tomorrow morning, put pictures, for me this is the best figure iron man there, I love this iron and do not want another, now wait for hulk, a hug to all

I also agree with this which just adds some extra thoughts I forgot on my post just a few above.. The promo shots were awesome.. When I held it I hand I was like "WTF"..??!! And if you zoom in to the promo ****s, the detail is way better.

I got mine, and I'm a fresh collector. If anyone has a unboxed Mark VI battle damaged I would do a trade

Why not sell it on ebay and then purchase a Mark VI? I am pretty sure if you sell it, you'll have more than enough money to purchase the Mark VI.

Cause ebay will take away 10% of his earnings

Also he's around the same as Mark VI at $550

I have been debating this since I got it - should I keep it, should I sell it..?? I'm keeping for now but I find this really hard to pose without looking 'toy like'. My regular Mk7 is the better figure for me, no question.

Up close, I do think this looks very cheap and toy like with the dull finish and plastic looking burn marks with stripes of black airbrush paint however now and then I get a pose I like... I sit back and an hour later I'm not so sure. It's the first figure I just cannot get right.

As much as the Tony Stark head sculpt is awesome (and after messing with it for an hour then looking at my workshop stark IM3 head, which is also amazing and I thought near perfect, this one is way better) I just cannot get that to sit right either and it's the stare of the eyes. They are very converged (?) as in looking right into the distance and as such when you look at it, he appears to be glaring through you. I so much want to use this sculpt but I cannot find a pose that suits. I like to look at my figures and it appears they are almost looking at me or somewhere in the room... Tony looks like he's smoking something.. It's great but not all at the same time. I really don't like that blank glare look and this has it (not got Black Widow but loads of photos make her look like that..?)

I wated so long for this figure, so excited convinced this was the big one and now I have it, it's good... Its Ok... But not amazing and not as good as the regular mk7 and I'm so gutted because I feel like I'm pushing myself to like it more than I do.. :( There are so many people liking it too I was utterly convinced I would love it but meh.. And selling now for £400+ in the uk, it's a frikkin expensive OK figure... :(

thats exactly how i feel with my samurai predator :rotfl

Found this eBay scalper description amusing since it references this forum:

"Also included in the figure (not pictured) are bragging rights for years when this bad boy hits your Detolf, you'll want to clear out those DX's and those inferior head sculpts that tried to capture Robert Downey Jr in all of his glory because this figure is ready to sucker punch those figures in the pink rubber panties and tell them to pound sand.

You'll have a free pass to head over to SideshowCollectors, post your pictures and let them know what's up. Better hike up your pant legs because all that drool is going to come flooding in when you got this on display and people are selling kidneys on the black market to get one for themselves. Don't believe me? Look what happened to that Mark VI figure, they've only increased in value, as well as awesomeness.

If this isn't your brand of vodka, you can always pray to Thor himself that your waitlist gets converted. You think that regular Mark VII with interchangeable BD parts will suffice? Have you seen the head sculpt on that? It'd be more appropriate if the movie was called El Hombre De Hierro."

Holy crap lol! Who did this:lol

just got a hulk and im amazed the base seems to have been made for him. the 2 flat parts of it fit with hulks feet!

Sweetness!

Kinda share similar thoughts. I had a feeling that the battle damage wouldnt look as spectacular as the proto piece. Should of been more like the BD MKVI,which I think is the best BD look avaliable atm. The main draw for me was the headsculpt and the repulsor hands(was the only figure at the time that was going to include them). Well HT ended up including the hands with the MKVII so the main reason I ended up getting it is the head/face sculpt, which is straight up spectacular. Realest looking one I own for sure. The base is pretty neat and after seeing it used with Hulk, I think Ill go that route. As for the BD body I think Im going to hire a customizer to bring this figure up a few more notches. The abs area battle damage is awesome, to me it stands out (in a good way) and Id like to match the rest of the body with it. It really is a sweet figure and I dont want to let it go but I neeeeeeeed more battle damage,I want him to look super ****ed up from battle.:)

I've noticed that as well after looking at all the great pics from those that have him. I also think it's bunk that they didn't put the straps on the shoulder armor like the regular mark 7, so to me it looks like a mark 4 battle damaged.

Yeah, the headsculpt and base are the center piece of this figure. It would really be awesome to see some customized battle damaged MK VII later down the road.

Well after I'm done with mine and post pics, and if you guys like how it turns out, I'd be happy to take commissions for those on this thread who end up missing out on the figure but still want a more weathered MKVII

Let me know brother, I'd be happy to do it...WM is still one of my favorite figures!

Have you started on your MKVII yet dsokyra?

Have you started on your MKVII yet dsokyra?

Not yet, work's been busy and I've been waiting to see some in hand pics of this guy...it seems like the main selling point is that headsculpt. The battle damage just looks like a little more black and silver added. I'm gonna get started soon. From a collecting standpoint, I'd still love this figure, however, like I said before, I think I can do a pretty decent damage job to my MKVII...does the chest piece on this guy have the same mold as the regular version? I'm referring to the silver chewed up part...
