Macro photography is for taking pictures of smaller objects such as these toys and things like insects. Here's a pic of a mantis I took a few weeks ago in Macro setting. :wave

Incredible pics.
Reminds me of Stewie Griffin.
:clap

I've long thought about investing in a good camera. Probably a 7D since I shoot videos. I would love to be able to take great pictures of my collection. Though I've taken enough photography courses to have a basic understanding, I just never liked figuring out lighting, apertures and stops. Just found it to be a nuisance.

So that what macro means, so far I've taken decent pictures without it but I'll have to give it a shot tomorrow. I did just take a few photos of my newest PF's in dark lighting, and they turned out great since I'm learning how to adjust exposure.

Hi Everyone, reader of these boards for a while now, thought I would join the fun. Wanted to ask those that have this figure if it lived up to your expectations. I have been debating buying this one. And yes, I am an Iron Man junkie, lol... Best to you!

John..

John..

Welcome John! For myself Id say yes,its a really neat figure. I do wish there was more weathering/battle damage but its a minor gripe. The stark headsculpt is what sets this one off imo,its one of HT's best to date.

Thanks Furyan! I have been debating this for a bit. Everytime I think I want to buy this, I look at my wife and I come to my senses. It just looks like a great piece.

Hi John, same here!

Have been a lurker for a while, and decided to make my 1st post on this yummy Iron Man figure.

I didn't get this from the secondary market tho, so i consider this money very well-spent!

Took some pics of this pretty boy with my crappy iPhone camera, for my virgin post :D

If your looking for a pure black background, like you see alot of bloggers post; my first attempts yielded your result; the trick is to get your ironman far from the black back ground (mine is usually 5-7ft behind iron man) and the camera is then another 5ft in front of iron man, shut the lights out; and stage lights pointing at the iron man, like a 45 degree from 2 directions, you can use an over head light for some additional highlighting; then put it in (P)rogram mode; drop the ISO low, like 100 (my sony does a multiframe shot 7 frames and combines them to produce a low noise photo) nikon should do something similar, im sure, drop the exposure (e.g. -1.0 to -2.0) and use your telephoto lens to zoom in all the way (150-200mm); this will blur out the wrinkles and any light bouncing off your black back ground to create a solid background... see examples below, my black bed sheet looks just like yours but from the photos you can't tell; hope that helps :)

That is really helpful. I've been trying to find a way to get rid of the wrinkles off the background. I even tried to move the figure as far away from the background as possible but it wasn't enough. Thanks !

Well $300+ is a crazy price Ill agree! Some figures I buy Ill get em in hand and ultimately decide if its "worth" what I paid. I this case Id say yes. I think its my love for the Avengers movie that pushed me over the top, waited many years for something that fantastic to come out. I wish you luck on making that decision friend:)

Thanks man!

I didn't manage to get the regular MK 7, but more than happy with this BD version :blissy

Lets hope we wont see pink panties on this figure ever... *fingers crossed*

Exactly. Same reason for my buying my Avengers Cap, Thor and Loki. Not to mention Iron Man Mark VII regular version. I just may cave and get this yet.

I can recommend the BD Mark 7 a lot. I have the regular one and the BD, and I prefer the BD version. I think the BD is a more durable and well put together figure over the Regular Mark 7. My Regular mark 7 feels very fragile and not as sturdy as the BD. Maybe I just have a looser regular Mark 7, I don't know.

My only Complaint about the BD is that I already have a tiny tear in the rubber in the middle right forearm. all I did was pose him a few times for pictures. I hope it doesn't get worse.

Yeah, I hear you. I always watch the arms if I bend them and I tend to not have them bent for too long on my regular mark VII. The BD one does look incredible. Thanks for the input!

The real way to make your background purely solid black is really simple. Don't need to waste money on expensive velvet or move the figure 5 to 7 feet away (not everyone has the luxury of that much space).

The reason the black is muddy is because light it hitting it. The key is to make sure no light is hitting the background. You need to 'cut' any lights that is spilling into the background. It is what we do in movies or tv shows.

You block out any access light by strategically wrapping black paper on the lights itself.

Done right, you can have the figure within two feet of the background and it will still be solid black.

My small avengers line up:

Think these two are a real dreamteam! Had them waiting unboxed quite a while, simply didn't find the time to unbox them before but couldn't wait any longer so this is how it turned out after one short hour of trying some poses today.
Love the fact that the hand can finally be posed like this!
First Iron Man figure I'll leave unmasked by the way, great sculpt!

Think the color finish is a litte strange tough, as some lower parts are more shiny than some upper parts. Compared it to some other figures pics here and they all seam like this. :dunno
