Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

I was thinking we might see him in a nuclear storage bunker with 12' thick, blast-proof walls, like they wanted to put the xenomorph in at the end of "Alien III."

I too have a really hard time believing he is dead and going to stay dead.

Have you ever read Invincible?
The government get a Viltrumite(Imagine a Kryptonian with NO weaknesses to kryptonite, able to fly through space indefinitely at super high velocities and super strong no matter WHAT coloured sun they are in orbit of), and imprison the guy when he's half dead from a fight(The only thing that can hurt Viltrumites are each other), and pour a solid 20 metre cube of steel over him with only his head poking out.
When he eventually heals, he takes off straight out the cube.
12' thick concrete couldn't hold Zod.
But, perhaps the crashed seed ship that he was flying(That crashed in the ruins of Metropolis), might hold the key to Kryptonian weaknesses, and perhaps Lex gets his hands on it during the cleanup...

Honestly if it were you wouldn't you do the same?

If i were Superman and had those powers, i couldn't afford to get angry at some lowlife like that.
I could kill him.
I'd fly around the world a few times and then make out with Lois.

I was thinking maybe they had him bound somehow, maybe with Promethium [or whatever the DCU version of adamantium is], and then inside the 12'-thick bunker on top of that.

Or maybe they're just keeping him tranqed in the bunker. I dunno, I don't write scripts :p

If i were in charge of holding a kryptonian, i'd have an array of lighting that replicated the rays of a red sun...
That way your prisoner would be like a human in there...

My favorite scene from this beautiful kryptonian!!!

COME ON HOT TOYS MAKE IT HAPPEN!

I actually just worked on a Fox show for two days where Meloni is the star. He's a really nice guy and he's very strong. Not in a body builder way but he's just really thick. His whole posture is very powerful. It's strange for me to say this because I'm a fighter and I've seen a lot of fighters. I'm not saying he's the strongest guy that ever lived, but physically he exudes strength in his posture. The episode revolved around wrestling, which is why I was there. I actually choreographed all the wrestling scenes although Chris did not do his own stunts.

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

Superman killed zod in an even worse way in superman II. Lois pushed the girl off a cliff and the two of them were cackling with laughter. Superman turned zod into a human and STILL killed him with a smirk on his face. I don't get why MOS gets so much hate when he had no choice but to kill zod and was clearly upset over it. It was a moment I quite liked actually and makes a hell of a lot more sense than what SII did.

:exactly::goodpost:
Zod has been killed in the comics as well.

And all the destruction is a small price to pay in order to save earth from total annihilation. At least that is what I took from this awesome movie.

Hard to believe those who are such Reeve Superman fans think no one was killed or hurt during the battles in those movies. Just cause they weren't shown doesn't mean it couldn't or didn't happen.

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

I always try to keep an open mind when watching movies where I have certain expectations and each incarnation of the Superman movies have their merit. For me, Superman is not "Super" because of his abilities and god-like power but what makes him "Super Man" is his morality to not abuse his powers.

The movie "Man of Steel", I think IS an origin story. Think of it this way: He wrapped a big rig around a pole because he got irritated. As a boy when being bullied he crushed a steel pipe. His own father tells him, "sometimes I wish you would fight them back" or you can't be the hero all time. And, of course, in Metropolis he did as much damage as Zod.

In our normal world if such a being existed, we'd be scared of him from what he's done. But I think this movie is just an introduction. The second will now show us his humanity and morality, what really makes him "Super" and beyond our frailties of human behaviour. I like the movie. It may take 3 movies but if the story develops throughout the movies and the character develops, I am willing to wait through its development.

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

This set has three discs in it, whereas the US Shield set has four disks. So, it looks like the 'Voyage Of Discovery' on this set is only available as a part of the digital copy, rather than on a separate disc as in the US version. Now, I don't know myself yet if this is going to work for me, but as France is Region B and I (though in the UK) am also Region B it may be OK.

I shall investigate further, and let you know later!

hi i just saw this info about the USA blu ray combo ,posted on another forum, looks like they maybe fazing out the second screen download thing and doing it as a physical extra copy disc ,which would mean a permanent hard copy to keep forever as apposed to a down load that maybe discontinued at any time ,which i would much prefer myself , being technically inept ,or have i misread the situation entirely lol,any one know if this version will be available anywhere else or just the USA and will USA blu rays still play on UK players

Small bit of info on the suit for the second movie...

"Let's wrap this up with a few Superman tidbits. My source tells me that Henry Cavill just received a copy of David Goyer's script last week, and that you can expect alterations to Superman's costume, as there are "two separate teams working on the suits." Which is something that was also brought up by Peter Georgiou (thinkmcflythink.com) last week on Twitter

Yay another costume, another hot toy to look forward to :)

Ugh... Always makes me nervous with they mess with Superman's costume. I thought the suit in MOS was a perfect update of it. Don't see why they need to change it other then to sell more toys.

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

I love the Man of Steel suit, to the point where I would like to see the comics adopt the look. However, I do admit it could use some tweaking. Personally, I would brighten up the suit's colours, smooth out the texture on the shield emblem, add an emblem to the cape and try and give him some form of red belt to break up all the blue, while still maintaining the gold bits. So hopefully the design team are looking to tweak it and not just do a complete redesign.
From a Hot Toys perspective it never mattered to me if Superman gets a new suit. I am going to buy the Superman VS Batman version no matter what. Zod needs his Superman as much as Affleck's Batman is going to need one in my display.

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

The suit was made by the ship Clark got it in(It would have been too much of a coincidence that Clark happened to find a ship that was crewed exclusively by the House Of El.
When he plugged in the control key, Jor El was having the ship make him the suit.
If there is any kind of fortress, it could make alterations.
Another possibility is that, since the suit has some similarities in design to the New 52 suit, perhaps it appears on him when he wills it to. In which case, perhaps he can change the design himself.
I am sure any design changes will be called out in the movie.
