It's a cleverly done thing, but the MOS boots had subtle lifts built into them. It's close to three inches at the rear end, with his toes being on the ground. And even though it seems to be a flat boot, if you look at them from the side any time he's standing next to someone, you can see the upper of his foot is ever so slightly elevated. Not by much, and not so as most people would notice. If you check out the scene where Crowe is doing the voiceover and Cavill is walking towards camera about to learn how to fly, you can see in the boot that he is walking slightly awkwardly and that his heel is raised and the slope of the metatarsal bones is a bit too high to be normal.
This is how they made Cavill 6'6" tall as Superman.
And the reason the HT figure is 13" tall.

No worries Tony.
I totally agree it's unfortunate that MOS is an inch taller than the Bale Batman figure.
It's also seemingly a bit of a one-off for this new size, but Superman is meant to be gigantic and awesome.
This is a shame, when Batman should really be slightly taller with the ears, but all it means is that the DX12 was mis-scaled:

This makes it a bit better though, lol...

If you have any room in the shelves(Most shelves have a couple of inches of clearance above each figure's head), you could adjust Each shelf down by an inch or so, and gain a few extra at the top.
If that makes sense.

I don't remember Cavill ever looking particularly tall in MOS. Certainly not 6'6". He'd look like a giant towering over most people if that were the case. Take a look at this picture with Cavill and Adams about to kiss. Adams is listed as being 5'4" and even if she's wearing heels, which I doubt she was in that scene, or is standing on a box to make her appear taller she'd still only be 5'6" or 5'7" and it doesn't look like Cavill has a whole foot over her here. Also, Charles Roven, one of the producers of MOS and Batman v Superman recently talked about Affleck and his 6'4" frame and how they liked that about him because they wanted a Batman Superman could look up to. So if they somehow made Cavill 6'6" in MOS are they going to make Affleck 6'9", 6'10" to compensate?

Yeah these height statistics are way out there. His body is bigger because they had to attach the logo but they couldn't do that to a moving part so the joint is right under the logo but there's an extra space now between the chest and the abs. It causes the long torso. If you remove that space he's not so tall but he still has an oversized head. I'm not sure what that's about

That's why it's so silly. Give Cavill another inch if you must, so he's 6-2, but he should NOT be taller than Reeve. He's already much more muscular.

I hear you. That is why I've been working on a custom MOS for a while now. If only there was a good knock off custom head sculpt that wasn't as big as the Hot Toys head.

The bearded custom head out there is smaller proportionally than the normal one: Custom Made 1 6 Scale Bearded Henry Cavill Head Sculpt for Hot Toys Body | eBay
Also, the Modern Life one is 12" scale.
But obviously, not everyone agrees on the likeness.
In full head on light in the daytime, it can look a little off(Like any sculpt in bright light), but under detolf lighting, shining down from above, you get more normal shadows and it looks a lot better.

Those last two pics almost seem like they weren't sure if they wanted to sculpt Superman or Zod. It really does look like Cavill, don't get me wrong, but the vibe I got from it in those bottom two pics kind of reminds me of Michael Shannon on Boardwalk Empire.

Like i say, in the detolf, it looks great. In bright sunlight, it looks like there's something missing.
And regarding the Zod likeness, i don't see it myself, but perhaps if you critically look at Michael Shannon and Henry Cavill side by side, perhaps there might be a bit of similarity in facial shape, eye placement, etc. They likely both have a heroic larger than life look to them. Two sides of the same coin, etc.

It's really the bottom half of the face, and it's more in the last pic. They both have those strong jaw lines with the dimpled chins, and Shannon purses his lips like that a lot in Boardwalk Empire (I didn't remember it quite as much in MOS); almost to the point where it looks like he's biting his lip, and I kind of see that in the last one.

the proportions look good. It isn't a bad sculpt at all as perhaps an alternate world superman. It is pretty expensive though and not to available anymore. thanks for the heads up on the bearded sculpts. Unfortunately the makers don't make a regular version. I would buy it in a heart beat.

Yeah. I don't expect that will happen. Loads of sellers stocked up on the MOS bootleg heads and are struggling to shift them. They will not take on stock from anyone who makes a different version.

To be honest I don't see any resemblance to Henry Cavill in those custom heads. The factory head has a way better resemblance... that said the custom head itself looks good just doesn't look like the actor IMO.

In my eye, the Modern Life Sculpt looks like they tried sculpting Henry Cavill, but using Bruce Campbell as reference.

I'm hoping that with the upcoming Man from Uncle movie some producer will make a Cavil sculpt that can be used as an alternate MOS head sculpt.
