Re: Hot Toys - Iron Man 3 - MARK XVII Heartbreaker Armor

For $300 bucks, hope it's diecast.

Re: Hot Toys - Iron Man 3 - MARK XVII Heartbreaker Armor

The contours are poor, almost NECA PVC quality.... Probably just a first basic prototype... One of the poorest prototype finishes of Iron Man armor to release for PO pics.

Wish it was not diecast. This suit needs to look crisp.

If this is near retail quality... perhaps PPS series instead of MMS would be more appropriate....

:exactly: And, not to forget the lower price of a PPS.

Lol **** I need some sleep. Hotking posted but it's sgd not in us lol. My bad.

Re: Hot Toys - Iron Man 3 - MARK XVII Heartbreaker Armor

It's MMS 212. No diecast. I could be wrong but i didn't see any diecast symbol on those pics. Also no mention at all of that on the details at the official page.

Re: Hot Toys - Iron Man 3 - MARK XVII Heartbreaker Armor

I am fine with plastics.

Re: Hot Toys - Iron Man 3 - MARK XVII Heartbreaker Armor

It looks damn good, love the chunky legs and no sign or rubber on the elbows! Will definitely be po'ing this! :D

Re: Hot Toys - Iron Man 3 - MARK XVII Heartbreaker Armor

I have had no desire to own any of the additional armors outside of what Tony wears in the films but this looks so damn good! I wish they had taken this armor and gave it the Iron Patriot treatment rather than the old War Machine armor. Id say I was tempted but if it comes in at $250-300 with no additional headsculpts or anything its a safe bet I will just admire from afar.
Well done though!

Yeah they could at least throw in a Tony HS if the price is that high

My favoutire suit is finally coming
Very neat figure. They did a great job. Absolutely no interest in buying this, however.

Re: Hot Toys - Iron Man 3 - MARK XVII Heartbreaker Armor

Wow, they actually went against the intially announcement of this and actually made it plastic instead of Diecast. Really happy they did that.
This won't break the $300 price barrier then.

Re: Hot Toys - Iron Man 3 - MARK XVII Heartbreaker Armor

I really hope this is not diecast, and everything is pointing in that direction. Except for the base. Thats the base being used for all the other diecast armors. I'm hoping the promo pics were taken before they decided to switch this to a regular MMS.

Maybe the complexity of this armor didn't quite work in diecast???

It's not Diecast. They labeled it as MMS212 with no Diecast logo or mention of it anywhere in the official specs.

My guess is that the design was too complex or they were on a time crunch. They may had to meet the deadline of presenting something this figure for SSDC so they stuck with plastic to make it easier on them. :dunno

Maybe they are going in that direction where not making diecast Ironman figures could still allow them to charge near-diecast prices.

If this is going to be a regular MMS, Hot Toys could have at least included some gimmicks such as opening flaps, some battle damaged parts, etc.

We all like our figures to be movie accurate but not to the extent of being without ANY gimmicks. Having said that, I will still get his guy being an Ironman whore myself... :lol
