Re: Hot Toys - Iron Man 3 - MARK XVII Heartbreaker Armor

Pretty skinny on the accessories. But I'm sure not on the price. Still I'll be picking this one up.

Re: Hot Toys - Iron Man 3 - MARK XVII Heartbreaker Armor

It's not Diecast. They labeled it as MMS212 with no Diecast logo or mention of it anywhere in the official specs.

My guess is that the design was too complex or they were on a time crunch. They may had to meet the deadline of presenting something this figure for SSDC so they stuck with plastic to make it easier on them. :dunno

I went through all the pics and specs in the wee hours of the morning and certainly noticed the abscence of anything saying diecast. I guess I'm being cautiously sceptical because of the base and the fast that is was originally announced as a diecast. It even stated it was diecast in the recent article of Milk Magazine we saw.

Fingers crossed.

Re: Hot Toys - Iron Man 3 - MARK XVII Heartbreaker Armor

I really hope this is not diecast, and everything is pointing in that direction. Except for the base. Thats the base being used for all the other diecast armors. I'm hoping the promo pics were taken before they decided to switch this to a regular MMS.

Maybe the complexity of this armor didn't quite work in diecast???

This is actually the first regular MMS armor of IM3.... the stand is unique, the one that's similar to it is the middle stage of the IM3:Tony Stark Mech Test 2 figure. ....

Full specs is out... it's regular MMS..... following Redsnapper's price it will be USD254.99 or higher through SSC

Since these are all armors that they can't really repaint/re-use they want to maximize the profit the first time, so: Few accessories. No seperate headsculpt. (Really not needed, any existing headsculpt will do)

Re: Hot Toys - Iron Man 3 - MARK XVII Heartbreaker Armor

I was wishing that this'd be diecast but i'll settle for plastic if that means burning a smaller hole in my wallet!

You're absolutely right.

I went back and looked at the other diecast stands and the stark stand. Its not the same as any. Note to self, don't do accessory pic comparisons at 4am!!:slap

Now I'm 99% satisfied. :hi5:

Re: Hot Toys - Iron Man 3 - MARK XVII Heartbreaker Armor

Oh, and what i really love about the heartbreaker's design: NO panties!

Re: Hot Toys - Iron Man 3 - MARK XVII Heartbreaker Armor

I wish he spend more time on this armour than on the Mk42. This is one great looking suit! Can't wait to PO this!

Me too. I'm hoping when IM3 comes out on DVD, we'll see a lot more footage of all the other armors.

Re: Hot Toys - Iron Man 3 - MARK XVII Heartbreaker Armor

Looks good, best design from the movie imo.

Though i preferred the darker colour in the original teaser.

I've sold off all my iron Man figures except MKIV and War Machine so it's a pass for me.

Re: Hot Toys - Iron Man 3 - MARK XVII Heartbreaker Armor

Strange how it doesn't have any features.

No missiles, rockets, lasers, flaps, guns.

I know there wasn't any snown in the movie but still would've been good for it to have some since without them it's a weak seeming armour, even the MK2 had more to offer Tony in the final battle

Re: Hot Toys - Iron Man 3 - MARK XVII Heartbreaker Armor

The Heartbreaker is pretty much a walking Arc Reactor, so I wasn't expecting much abdominal articulation....but does this thing not even have waist articulation?

Limited articulation, and no weapons make this pretty disappointing. Hopefully we get a Silver Centurion armor w/weapons and good articulation.

Most of these armors were designed for a very specific task. I'm assuming Stark was thinking of the battle of NY and was designing JARVIS-controlled suits that could be in the battle and focused on different things. Heartbreaker blasting the main downpour of Chitauri, Red Snapper and Igor lifting rubble off of civilians, Gemini inside the portal trying to stem the flow, etc. etc. Not having each armor equipped with the same defenses as the Mark VII for instance could be a testament to his tunnel-visioned decision-making influenced by PTSD. Which could also be why he didn't have any home defenses built when the bad guys came calling; he just didn't consider that scenario?
