Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Captain America: Civil War - Captain America Collectible Figure

Iron man armor looks clearly different from PP figure. Especially gauntlets.

I think there will be a Mark 47.

So are you saying that the image is of the 47?

You can't tell if the gauntlets are different either. Not with any level of certainty.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Captain America: Civil War - Captain America Collectible Figure

Why would there be any doubt about a Mark 47? Since when do they only include one armor in these movies... Not saying the 47 is in that pic but we all know it'll be there.

I like that they are giving an expression sculpt this time around. Hopefully they offer another new head.

I really don't understand why they're not givin' Cap figures interchangeable expressions.

Ooh. I like that head, but generally I only buy Cap figs with an unmasked option. This is tempting, but as I also have the Iron Studios 1/4 Cap statue, I think I may be Cap'd out! Should probably save my money for other characters...

I do wish Winter Soldier had a very different outfit compared to his previous getup, but it looks fairly similar...might be a pass for me too.

You would think HTs would be able to do it right?

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Captain America: Civil War - Captain America Collectible Figure

It would be possible but difficult as Motu has explained. More exposed skin makes it harder and would require more work than HT are willing to put in. 2 heads seem unlikely due to the neutral head looking like the aou one. A new unmasked sculpt would be better but again they are likely to reuse if they do include one.

Very true.

Given that GA Cap and TDW Thor only came with the one sculpt that had bared teeth, I think it's also entirely possible that this sculpt may be the only sculpt that CW Cap will come with.

Are we still expecting a "Scale suit" cap as well? I'll mostly likely pass on this figure because of the similarities to the AOU version but a scale suit cap would pull me right back in.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Captain America: Civil War - Captain America Collectible Figure

I can see them being worried about people wanting to skip on this because it's very similar to the AoU figure, so I expect them to pull out the stops to justify people buying this one as well.

Sorry but this argument doesn't work after HT RoboCop.
They can, they could and they should.

Their new Batman figure is gettin' interchangeable eyepieces, for cryin' out loud!

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Captain America: Civil War - Captain America Collectible Figure

I really dislike sculpts with extreme expressions. I prefer more neutral looks that work in most displays.

The design of the robocop and batman cowls and entirely different then the cap helmet. With the robocop and batman figures you have this section of skin exposed around the mouth and everything else, from the neck to the nose, is covered. So a dark seam would blend in and not look odd. With a figure like cap to do interchangeable pieces the same way 3/4 of the head would have to be removed and then you'd still have a neck seam plus the mouth piece seam and it just flies to work.

And with robocop and batman the helmet/cowl design covers the nose. Caps does not. The comparison doesn't really work. Robocop and batman are pretty similar in design but Cap is not

I do acknowledge that if they were going to do a scale suit, this would be the ideal film to do it. However, I have not seen anything remotely concrete insinuating that a scale suit will be in the film.

As long as you have an option of a second head, like the last T1 Terminator. But if the second head is helmetless like the last Cap I could see people not being happy with two extremes either, and I don't see them doing 3 heads - expression+helmet, neutral+helmet, helmetless..

As I've mentioned also, the absolute worst case scenario would just be to simply put the AoU masked sculpt on this figure, which is what I'm pretty sure the prototype on the first page is using.

However, that could pose a problem for those that missed out on AoU Cap and were banking on this figure as being a suitable replacement, as they wouldn't have a masked AoU sculpt and would have to pick one up somewhere.

Although to be honest, even if given a separate sculpt, I think I would use this one anyway. It at least provides a bit of variety in facial expressions as opposed to having a sculpt with the exact same stoic expression as the others have. I tried to stick with the stock GA sculpt for this reason for as long as I could, but I just couldn't get over how bean headed it was and after seeing how great the figure looks with the Rogers sculpt (TWS or AoU).

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Captain America: Civil War - Captain America Collectible Figure

I have an extra STEALTH Cap head I can use if it's just that one headsculpt(just the little silver wing streak is the only difference). I don't even remember how I ended up with an extra Cap HS.(

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Captain America: Civil War - Captain America Collectible Figure

Judging by the recent comments, I must be the only one really excited about an angry head sculpt (fun fact- my TFA Cap is in almost exactly the same pose, except that the shield is on his left arm). That said, I think there's too much exposed teeth, and I'm worried the eyes will look too meek like the ones on GA Cap. Still, it beats the neutral expression that every other head sculpt is getting.

And I love Bucky's left hand. I'll have to pick that up separately for an "arc reactor grab" pose.
