My impression it's an OK fig and I'm keeping it only because I love this Marvel character a lot. However it should cost less (IMHO), I would say $95 would be a good price for this piece; I see OSK raised a price for it, I got it at $120 but it's currently $130. It's not HT quality for sure, but still a fun fig to have.

He is about 1/2 inch shorter than a HT Buck, his paint is not as sharp and detailed as HT, I give it 6.0 points out of 10.00. His skin tone is darker (about 2-4 shades) compare to a Civil War fig, so I had a thought he was on a some sort of vacation, Hawaii (or Wakanda???) maybe, lol, but good for him, at least Buck had some peaceful time on his own away from missions....:lol

His metal arm is NOT CHROME (Shining silver color) but more a "gun metal" arm (much darker) than the original HT figs arms, especially compare to CW Buck. I have no idea if only my OSK fig like that and some are vary, but just have to mention it. Also his star is not a classic red but more "mauve red" or washed out red, mine came with a few scratches on it. Of course hair, hands, boots and the rest of small parts are not as detailed as HT parts; the same about his face - "smoother" wrinkles and realistic imperfections that were done by HT sculptors, but I can live with it (this actually makes him look younger, lol).
I was surprised how good his jacket and pants were made. I couldn't see a difference between his pants and original HT pants, however his jacket doesn't have "laser pre-cuts" like HT pieces. I don't know what his body type is, but it looks similar to a Comodel older type (looks a bit short).
This fig came very close to copy the original HT Civil War Buck, if I wouldn't be experienced with HT quality I probably could be easily tricked by it, so watch out for Ebay fakes (now Buck got a "fake Gucci" status :lol) and buy from serious sellers/dealers if you are a newbie.

Very nice review and great pics - completely agree just based on the sculpts I picked up recently. The KOs are nice enough if you know what you are getting - tho LOL to me Bucky looks more STRESSED and even a bit red eyed re the eye paint with mine. Hairline is sloppier, pretty much everything you said. Skin texture is lacking.

IMO for me figure I'll just get another HT if I need to. These KOs are more for customs and experimenting, mostly. Just got a great HT head $$$
but seems to be a flood of heads on the 'bay right now - e.g. glad I got the HT head before that 'coz who knows what you might get shipped - maybe a KO at HT prices unless it's a seller you can trust re genuine parts.
.

Thanks for the comparison Crimsonixx. I was interested in seeing the quality of the KO heads but as expected, it doesn't come close to the HT head. Glad I never contemplated getting the KO. :)

But I guess, if this was the only CW Buck in someone's display, it wouldn't be so bad.

are the footpegs changeable?to increase height?

That’s just rubbish though. A few white guys won’t take away from that amazing cast of colour. People are just being petty. I mean, please, Bucky being part of that movie doesn’t mean he’ll jump in and save the day coz T’Challa couldn’t handle it. There’s nothing wrong with him doing a bit of ass-kicking too. Like … if Wakanda was infiltrated by a third party or if those inside not too happy with T’Challa as king, it could be a safety measure for T’Challa not to have the Winter Soldier frozen on a silver platter but to get him out for the time being. I mean, it’s not like the rest of the world isn’t still looking for Bucky. I imagine, if the other nations found out Wakanda (T’Challa) was hiding him, they wouldn’t be too pleased and it would be very troublesome for Wakanda. And if you wanna get rid of the new king, make others do your work. What’s best than to have other nations and citizens after him coz despite him signing the accords, he was the one to hide a wanted former assassin (and aid the rest of Team Cap who are now also fugitives). Also anyone inside Wakanda who’d think less progressively and more in terms like “Wakanda shouldn’t mingle with the rest” wouldn’t like Bucky being there. Just coz T’Challa is the new king doesn’t mean people are fine with that. They might have respected his father but that’s no guarantee they’ll respect T’Challa too. Seriously, ignoring Bucky in that movie would be very odd coz the sole fact that he’s there means a lot of trouble and complications for T’Challa.

And let’s not forget the official synopsis for Black Panther:
"After the events of Marvel's Captain America: Civil War, King T'Challa returns home to the reclusive, technologically advanced African nation of Wakanda to serve as his country's new leader. However, T'Challa soon finds that he is challenged for the throne from factions within his own country. When two foes conspire to destroy Wakanda, the hero known as Black Panther must team up with C.I.A. agent Everett K. Ross and members of the Dora Milaje, Wakanadan special forces, to prevent Wakanda from being dragged into a world war."

So one white guy is already in the team-up. I don’t see any reason why Bucky shouldn’t at least snipe someone or try to lend a hand (lol sorry Buck).

Those guys must be thrilled about Ross then. :lol They're probably having a prayer circle now that Ross won't be the one saving the day. :lol

Unfortunately, Sebastian Stan has announced that he is not in the Black Panther film :gah:

Jesus really? People want Bucky in this film? We've gotten 2 great movies with The WS already.

I want to see T'Challa and Killmonger fight it out

I think people just liked the idea of Bucky being in it a possibility because of him being in Wakanda. I don't mind if he's not in it, personally. Though it would be great for kicks to see him frozen in the background as T'Challa walks past, talking with a scientist :lol Like, "Oh you wanted Bucky? Here he is: Winter Popsicle."

Yeah, REALLY. Partly because for some he's a fav character, and partly because IMO *logically* re telling a story, Bucky's presence - assuming it was known in Wakanda - would be a hot-button issue for someone rebellious like M'Baku and others already resenting T'Chaka and T'Challa for engaging with the rest of the world. E.g. Bucky is a catalyst of sorts for M'Baku and others as well as potentially a weapon to steal.

I wouldn't have asked for Bucky to even be awake that much in BP - that doesn't make sense either *assuming* work is done in Wakanda to make a new arm for him and/or try to heal his mind. Which is complicated. (Since T'Challa is compassionate I doubt he'd even want to traumatize Bucky further by putting him in a fight situation.)

But 5-10 minutes of T'Challa and Bucky or even some Cap wouldn't have hurt or "diluted" someone's solo movie. Any more than Falcon "diluted" Ant Man. IMO not having Bucky at all - considering the last film's story - just seems lame. You get dramatic moments of Bucky's arm being blown off in CW and more dramatic moments of Bucky deciding to go back into cryo and Cap and T'Challa talking about victimization and T'Challa wanting to somehow right things and all.

And then, what - MAYBE - 20 seconds of an end credit scene in BP as a follow-up? When T'Challa is ready to take on the world to do the right thing? Or maybe Everett Ross is chasing Cap & co. re the Raft escape and that gets "mentioned" in BP. But I think the story told in CW deserves more than a 20-second credit scene.

I can absolutely understand why people want more Bucky - frankly, he was too much of a plot device and not enough time was there for him as a character in CW to me, which is why I'll forever wish they'd made Captain America 3 before CW, if they even had to do CW at all. I didn't care about Steve and Tony, I wanted more focus on Steve and Bucky after TWS.

But I never expected him to be featured in Black Panther, and totally get why he isn't.

:exactly: I couldn't have said it better myself!!!

I'd rather see a Bucky solo film but considering how he was mostly used to do evil things, it'll have to be pretty good lol.

IMO, that is one of the reasons they should give Bucky the shield if Chris Evans is done, instead of recasting Steve right away. Bucky being Cap would make for a compelling story, precisely because he's not Steve and because of his connection to Steve and his ugly past. That's story potential right there.

Agreed. I'd like to see BuckyCap for a while, and if and when story reasons allow for it - Bucky steps down from carrying the shield and passes it on to Sam. Bucky takes back the mantle of Winter Soldier (owning what was forced on him the same way Natasha has with Black Widow), Sam becomes Cap, after Bucky had a good run as BuckyCap

Thank you! I thought about it a bit...and really, for me - aside from WS being a fav:cool: - it wouldn't matter what characters(s) had been in the end scenes of CW. If another movie that has connections is being released I naturally expect to see some sort of flow from one story or chapter to the next - in this case too, enough point was made that Bucky - a major character and focus in CW - is IN Wakanda. I KNOW that. So I expected SOMETHING and not a throw-away line about it.:gah: How Coogler handles that is gonna be interesting:google - just blow off Bucky's presence pretty much:mad: or have some *profound* moment w. T'Challa about it???:dunno

Or it'll be left to the Russos to stuff Bucky's new arm/mental health/relationships/conflict with Tony/possible connection with BW and everything else into IW. I wonder if we'll even get some explanation of why there was SOME sort of reaction w. T'Challa's ring and Bucky's arm? Like Bucky's arm was able to repel whatever T'Challa was trying to do?

Although, and this is REAL SPOILER for BP comics and POTENTIAL SPOILER SPECULATION for IW Teaser, IW, and BP- I would be totally down with "no Bucky in BP" if

In the comics W'Kabi is chief of Wakandan security as well as T'Challa's loyal second-in-command. He has a bionic
arm. He's also a close friend. In the comics he dies protecting T'Challa.

So I could see a potential storyline where T'Challa re the comics does have some warning of an impending Thanos attack. And that MAYBE in BP W'kabi is dying after a conflict - and asks at the last for Bucky to take his arm and do what he, W'kabi, can no longer do - protect his king and friend. A last request from a dying man. He asks Shuri to make it happen. (Maybe they ignore the left/right thing). Because Wakanda is threatened and Bucky IS a super-soldier, a soldier, and someone freakin' Captain America defied the world for. Who better to protect his king?

Or maybe T'Challa asks Bucky to honor W'Kabi by taking the arm and standing by him in the coming conflict. Or Shuri asks or just wakes Bucky, to protect her brother, at any cost. And Bucky's mental health is dealt with somehow, or maybe nobody cares because in a conflict like this w. Thanos a triggered Winter Soldier is a good thing.

Bucky was ALWAYS at Cap's back so he could appreciate W'Kabi's or T'Challa's or Shuri's request. And it would explain why apparently in the teaser, Bucky is with T'Challa at the head of a Wakandan army and/or his own army. Why else would someone who *may* not be that stable suddenly be free and standing with T'Challa and accepted as a leader? Unless *everyone* knew Bucky had been chosen, and why?

I could deal with that in a BP credit scene. So Bucky isn't "IN" BP, but the mid or last credit scene is Bucky opening his eyes and the new arm flexing and/or him standing with T'Challa, seeing the first arrival of Thanos' children. For me it would be pretty moving too, the trust now invested in Bucky by T'Challa and that Bucky is ready to fight to protect Wakanda.

But, not bein' insensitive to at least Bucky is IN Infinity Wars. Because there are other character who folks might have wanted:dunno:( who may or may not show up:dunno. Just give us the IW teaser already!!!!!!

Before I look back through 150 pages, has anyone posted photos using the rooted hair Bucky sculpt available at OSK? Thnx.

Not that I know of - but as someone who's peeled the original vinyl hair off one of the Bucky KOs that popped up on the 'bay (don't have the b@lls to mess with the real HTs) - at least w. the one I have, there's a plastic ridge at the top of the forehead like the TWS head. Plus more plastic on the sides of the face for hair strands. The vinyl KO hair fits into that. The ridge looks like little horns at the top of the forehead if the hair is pulled off.

IMO to do a quality rooting no way around doing some sanding/sculpting/repaint w. the current CW Bucky KOs.

Might work under a civvie Buck ball hat - maybe. But there's a reason IMO this sculpt is so inexpensive compared to the amazing OSK T'Challa sculpt.
