I've already managed to break one of the clips on the pieces you have to pry off to get to the batteries. Fortunately it doesn't seem to prevent the piece from clipping in flush and staying put, so thank god--but it really frustrates me how bad the design of these pieces is.

Is there some trick I'm missing? Every time I try to access the light switches I feel like I'm risking breakage. I guess it's fortunate that the head and torso lights are easy to access.

Was it the rear thigh piece? Those are a pain. The rest of them are fairly easy on mine. The shoulders were a bit difficult the first few times, but now they're easier.

With the thighs, I try to get my nail in on the outer edge, press in slightly, then pull.

It's a shame they aren't easier to remove, I don't mind the amount of switches, I just with the panels were held in place with magnets, or an easier peg system.

It doesn't damper my enjoyment, but does raise the stress a tad.

It was the forearm, actually.

its still preorder on sideshow...if i order it will they ship it or?

Order it and get on chat with them and ask them to ship it. I had mine on preorder. The last flex payment was supposed to be on the 25th (yesterday), but last week Wednesday (the 21st) I got on chat, paid my last payment and asked them to ship it that day, and they did.

From all I've been reading with the difficulties in trying to get the batteries installed I'm not even going to bother doing it. Once a figure is posed the way I want it makes it hard to even get to the light switches anyways. With the amount of light up features this figure has I'm kinda of surprised HT doesn't go with an independent power source that could be switched on and off from the base. I could live with a small cord coming out of the back of my figure if it meant not breaking pieces every time I want the light function on or off and it would solve the mess of having to ship so many batteries with the figure

Yeah, they should have put the power source in the stand and include a cord that plugs into the back of the figure. HT really needs to start thinking out of the box. Like with Vader, it was completely unnecessary to put the sound feature in the figure. It should have been in the base if they really wanted to include it.

Getting the batteries in wasn't difficult at all. It's just difficult removing the rear thigh panels at first. I highly recommend at least testing the lights out, the thing is beautiful when all lit up.

I too wouldn't mind a power source in the base and small cord that could attach to the back of the figure. Have the input behind the back plate, and viola.. perfect. And you have the choice to not have it lit up if you don't want.

I've suggested something like this before, but motuxmen would always debate saying that it would be impossible, and I'd argue hot toys is always innovating. I think they've proven that they're able to be articulate with lights.. the thigh batteries power the lower legs, the chest batteries power the abdomen/waist lights.. so, I don't think something like that is impossible.

It's a shame though.. once something like that comes to be, I'll wish all of the armors were equipt with that system.

My shipment came in yesterday afternoon. Man, you guys weren't kidding when it comes to the weight on this thing. Got some heft to it. Love it, though. My first Iron Man Hot Toys figure.

I'll probably wait until this weekend to try to install the batteries.

Got my replacement head today,
It is perfect.
Can you guess which one is the one with the scratch?
Sucks I gotta break it!

Hah yeah I really do understand the complaints about all of the separate battery compartments, I have a tendency to check that the electronics are functional and then removing the batteries and never using them again.

However, I can also see why Hot Toys doesn't use one central unit - the wiring is often faulty when they take care to not have any of it anywhere near the joints... Can you imagine how many would be dodgy if wires ran through the whole figure? Eesh! Whilst I do hope they come up with a better solution eventually, I can really see why they use so many separate circuits at the moment.

Really looking forward to my one turning up - used a UK based retailer since there wasn't an exclusive, so for now I'm vicariously enjoying everyone else's photos.
