Gotta say I'm really not liking the black eye they painted on this head. I'm all for movie accuracy, but given this will be my only Iron Man figure I would have much rather had a clean looking sculpt, and I'm very tempted to pick up one of the clean knockoffs being offered on ebay right now...

I like the black eye since he was black eyed when wearing the armor in tne movie

I hear you. Originally when the proto preorder photos were released and showed the blurred sculpt, I was really hoping it would be clean. But upon arrival, I really happy with the black eye. I wouldn't say it's subtle, but it's also not glaring and overpowering. I feel my eye is drawn to the quality of the sculpt, as opposed to a fat black eye. Definitely adds character to the sculpt.

If anything, the CW or AoU knockoffs both look great. Or you could try and get the headsculpt from the Mk47 since it's this sculpt minus the black eye, though it won't be at the same price as the KOs.

I know its a bad picture, dont have a good camera or phone camera. But got cap, ironman and vision on ironmans base. Cap is kinda leaning on iron man, but he's not going anywhere.

Hopefully it was an early release thing that was short lived. Just waiting for my LCS to get him. Looks fantastic!

Glad to hear yours is in full working order Sassafras. Looks great

Thanks PopCultKid! Hope you get yours soon - hafta say getting a chance to work with him a bit more am even more impressed:clap. Maybe all the IM diecasts are like this but IMO this is some nice work from HT (even w. the glitches etc.) The details - just the right weathering for me too, the weight - at least for me a great choice for my first IM. Do love the sculpt:clap - mine looks like what I've seen in other reviews.

Re comments about maybe a bit of grease feel etc. - yeah, I had a bit. Subtle, but was there. Figure it's just some sort of production residue and can just use a microfiber cloth:dunno. But seems to be gone after handling today. LOL am sure gonna miss lighting this guy up re long term display - time to look into wiring options.:monkey3

I like this grouping - nice - and good to know I can get Tony in that position, haven't tried that yet!

I had a couple of issues with my ironman, loose shoulder armour magnets straight out the box and one wrist rocket not glued properly then a small scuff on the mask. I posted about it a while ago.
Sideshow we're pretty good, got a discount of any figure I had on pre order & a replacement head.
1st head arrived had a tiny dot mark on the face so I told them about that & they sent me another-this time thankfully perfect. The only thing is I'd of lived with both these tiny tiny marks on the face plate if everything else was fine, but with the culmination of all the small faults straight out the box-I was pissed about it.
But I tell ya it sucked having to smash the two near perfect heads up

Why do they make you destroy them? Why not just send it back so they can fix it??? :cuckoo:

It's nuts! Both had really small hardly noticeable marks on the gold face plate which I prised off with a screwdriver very easily.
It's only clipped in with the holders as seen in the photos.
I kept the face plates intact in case I ever damage mine somehow and now I know how to replace it and have replacement pieces to do so.
But I can't fault sideshows customer care, really good.

I'm not sure if this is just me, but do your hands feel like there is some type of residue on them after handling this figure?

I had to keep washing my hands on multiple occasions after handling him cause something was definitely rubbing off on them. It wasn't paint or anything, but I dunno how else to describe it, but a substance was definitely getting on my hands.

Is it just me??? :cuckoo:

Just gonna bump this...anyone though???

Ha, not quite like lube, but there is definitely a residue that rubs off, like the paint or something. Am I the only one!?

I just got mine the other day and didn't notice anything. I messed with him for about an hour so I would have noticed something like that.

Gimme a few minutes to rub on it and see what happens :lol

Just played with mine for about an hour re-posing it. Didn't notice anything lube-y on my hands.

We're... we're talking about the figure... right? :lol

Yes, mine had a bit. IMO it's some sort of LUBE from the manufacturing. Just wipe with a soft cloth - microfiber if you have it. You know, polish.:monkey3

Anyone notice this too=battery compartments are a pain in the *** to get too! Where some on YouTube found pieces breaking falling off like wrist rocket addons and knee pads I got the version where no pieces want to come off at all specifically the shoulder pads and the neck post. No tool to help you get be neck post out and it wasn't easy I ended up scratching mine just trying to get it out with pliers and they only loosened it to finally pry and pop off with my fingers. This is my 1st Hot Toys Iron Man figure and I only have one War Machine from them-IP last HTs Iron Man I ever get from them. Now I see what ppl mean when they need to work in their accessibility. It's **** on this figure. Made almost to never light it up ever again.

Some pics when I got him July 7 made me realize never buy Iron Man from HTs ever again accessibility on this figure is a piece of crap. Did a lot of clawing budging and pulling. Especially on that neck post.
