Re: Hot Toys - MMS353 D16 - CA: Civil War - Mark XLVI Collectible Figure

This is exactly how I felt and thats why I'm on Tony side. Doesnt matter if Bucky wasnt in control of his actions, he still need to go on trial. He killed so many people. I understand Steve but he was wrong to defend Bucky.

I think this is probably what strong emotions does to a person; it blinds one's objectivity. The same could probably be said of Tony's decision to green-light the Ultron program.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS353 D16 - CA: Civil War - Mark XLVI Collectible Figure

Thanks! Your sig is really cool :hi5: . Im getting BW, BP and SW. I have Cap but its first avenger version and I really should have updated figure.
I think I just wait for infinity wars cap. I also have IM and its Mark VII.

If I had space I would get everything lol. For now, I'm just collecting figures and statues of characters that I always loved since I was a kid :)

True. Thats why he says "we need to be put in check" and agree with Sokovia accords. He knows that he screwed up many times. Steve was right also for not agreeing with it but not for defending Bucky. Thats what makes this movie incredible. Every1 has an opinion and its not wrong.

Yep agreed, but I kinda feel that if Steve hadn't been there, I think both T'Challa & Tony woulda been culpable for murder...because they definitely would've successfully off-ed Bucky. It may be that Steve just wanted to prevent his long-lost best friend from being killed.

Thats also true lol. Dude, this movie is awesome. I'm going again tonight :rotfl

Re: Hot Toys - MMS353 D16 - CA: Civil War - Mark XLVI Collectible Figure

Soooo why do movies like this get widely released outside the US first? I'm on the verge of shutting down my Facebook because of spoilery memes and gifs. Argh!

There may be other examples, but the big offenders are the Disney/Marvel movies. BvS had a simultaneous worldwide release and set a box office record for biggest superhero worldwide opening. If Disney ever released their Marvel movies on the same weekend worldwide, they'd obliterate that record. The argument is probably something about creating hype for the US release, but the Disney marketing machine is working well enough at this point that I don't think it makes a difference if we hear good reviews from the rest of the world before going to watch the movie (the critics reviews have already been out).

Back in the day (when I was a kid), I seem to recall that US movies would be released abroad after they came out in the US. Seems like we're getting the short end of that stick now...

And on that note, I'm staying out of the CW threads (and good chunks of the Internet, for that matter) until I finally watch the movie. :wave

Whenever Tony says that line ("We need to be put in check"), I always think to myself, "No, correction. YOU need to be put in check. You screwed up, and now you're essentially holding EVERYONE responsible for YOUR mistakes." :lol

As people have mentioned though, I really like how this film is seemingly making it like there is no clear cut "right" perspective, because it makes you think a little deeper on which side you're actually on with whom you feel is actually "right". Both sides seem like their perspectives are motivated by emotion; Cap's emotional ties to Bucky and Tony's knee jerk reaction with what happened in Sokovia with Ultron and his pent up guilt as a result of his own accumulated mistakes.

Stop reading my spoiler tags dude lol. U didnt watch it yet, I dont want to destroy ur experience :rotfl Yeah u're right about his mistakes, but there are also what happened on The Avengers, CA:TWS and T:TDW. Super heroes fighting will always turn cities into battlefields. There is another emotional motivation for Tony, but u need to watch it first, so we can talk. U're going to love this dude. I cant stop thinking about it lol

Spoilers don't bother me. I already know the gist of what happens, I read the plot, etc. :lol It doesn't ruin the film for me at all because I still haven't seen HOW it happens.

Nobody mentioned...

How nice the suit-up scene for this suit was? I mean it was short, but it was very different from his other suits. It was almost like his watch/glove. It seems like this suit has some nanite technology with it.

Just came back from my second view and I must say, this is my new favorite Marvel movie (Guardians in second now) and it might be one of my favorites of all time.:clap

Exactly this.

Not many people realize that Tony actually willingly sided with Steve and Bucky in the climax. What most people forget, is that what (understandably) drives Tony to go the deep end is finding out who killed his parents, with a literal front seat to their brutal deaths. The worst part is that Steve never even told him about this, and he even admits to Tony that he knew beforehand. Tony essentially took Steve's word and trusted him in the end, so finding out what really happened to his parents would understandably leave him feeling betrayed for all of Steve's insistence of doing what is right. Hell it was heavily framed and foreshadowed as one of Tony's biggest regrets that he never showed them enough love as much as he had wanted before it was too late. I'm just glad that with Steve sending that letter that they were somehow able to reconcile in the ending, and how even Tony visibly accepted Steve's apology for never telling him about it for so long.

This movie really made me feel for Tony unlike any other and it's what cements this suit as one of his most definitive looks alongside the Mark 3. Hell it's probably my mos favorite MCU film alongside IM1.

Very interesting. Can't wait to see and begin dissecting this film based on what I saw and perceived.

Nope I didn't. I have been on mobile all weekend so the spoiler tag clickies do not work for me (clicking them does nothing). Maybe those gifs were in that?

Re: Hot Toys - MMS353 D16 - CA: Civil War - Mark XLVI Collectible Figure

Just caught this kick ass movie yesterday. Definitely one of the best marvel movies, if not the best. The emotional commitment that audience or at least myself have for Tony Stark is much more then Ironman 3 or 2. Awesome!!

Re: Hot Toys - MMS353 D16 - CA: Civil War - Mark XLVI Collectible Figure

Yep this and Guardians are my top Marvel movies.

It's quite amusing that a Captain America movie did more for Tony's development than IM2+3.

Yes, ironic... maybe cause iron man films are less serious in tone and character development fails to register

was it ever explained when or how Cap knew about it was Bucky who killed Tony's parents?
