Re: Hot Toys - MMS353 D16 - CA: Civil War - Mark XLVI Collectible Figure
i rarely ever display my figures, that include battle damaged pieces, with the pieces. mostly because they just look out of place with the rest of the armor being pristine.
i dislike the totally clean armors.. they just look more like toys than 1/6 scaled versions of what we saw on screen. like the centurion armor, or the mark VII. they just look like toys. heartbreaker and starboost are a step in the right direction.. but shotgun, striker, age of ultron war machine, and the mark 45 (don't own it but have seen enough photos) really nail the amount of wear and tear i'm looking for in an armor. it's just enough to make it look worn, the way they are on screen, but not too much as to lose some of the brightness and pop that they should have.
honestly, i'd love for them to go back and give us new versions of centurion, heartbreaker, and starboost to better match the paint jobs they've been doing lately.
as a side note, i'd love a diecast mark VII with a pretty new paint job, and.. i'd love to see bones with an electroplated face mask. after opening up the figure and watching the scene again, it's quite shiny on screen and fairly dull on the figure. but i don't think doing that would make sense for them financially. it's still something i'd like to see eventually.
lastly.. lets face it, a majority of the time that these armors are on screen they're full of scratches, scuffs, and nicks. it's rare that we see tony wearing an armor that is totally clean.
