Funny enough, I watched that scene hard but its nearly impossible to tell without freeze-frame. I couldn't even tell if the guy who falls screaming had a pauldron or not.

If it were my movie, I would have made them regular, since the rest of his unit all seemed to be 'deluxed' out when they disembarked into battle (or most of them).

Yep, makes sense! :)

I may have to bite the bullet and get the Deluxe and the "entry level" one. If a Krennic figure appears, they will flank him. If Krennic is a no-show, they will stand alone on their own Detolf shelf... Or with the Shore-Trooper.

Damn, TWO Death Troopers.

I have to say, they did more than the average stormtrooper... and A LOT more than the Shoretroopers (whose first scene was getting mowed down in gunfire :lol).

Only Shoretrooper worth your time is the one guy who tossed the grenade into the ship near Rook. I don't know if that guy had a skirt or not though.

I did find myself chuckling at how trusting the regular Stormtroopers were of the Deathtroopers aim considering they were all lined up *behind* the Eadu engineers who were about to get gunned down by firing squad. :lol

The one Stormie who was standing at the edge was probably all "well at least I'm safe" before getting thrown off by Jyn.

That's always a weird little moment. I just can't figure how she makes him slip. She grabs his gun and for some reason his feet slip out from under him over the edge and he falls, leaving the gun in her hand. It's a weird Lucas-CGI moment that makes no physical sense.

That, and no one hears this.

I know, but the physics aren't there. If she knocked his feet first, then quickly snatched the gun as he fell then I would buy that.

It almost looks like a CGI trooper the way it falls. Its not natural looking at all -- like the filmmakers needed him to fall away faster than humanly possible. Watch it close next time. Its very odd.

Now that I've thought about it, only the two Death Troopers if Krennic is announced. Just the Deluxe DT for the time being...

My concern is that we will not see any of these Rogue One figures revisited for years, if ever. I'm thinking they will be limited in numbers as well, after the TFA glut, so I want to get them while I can. (at retail prices).

You called it, Wor. These guys remind of The Nine.

I haven't been able to bring myself to purchase them in any form, though. Mainly because I'd kinda want 9 of them. :lol

Especially since preproduction notes says they are supposed to be tall, unnaturally lanky and their helmets too small for a real head! :horror

Too bad they weren't like that in the movie.

I didn't find these guys to carry nearly that much weight. I'm not the biggest lotr/hobbit fan but I thought those guys were the best part of both trilogies. The deathtroopers, while cool feel sorta like a marketing gimmick to me. Could have been replaced by regular stormtroopers and the movie remains mostly unharmed.

I liked that the Deathtroopers reminded me of the original Black Hole Stormtroopers from the 1970's newspaper strips. They were buff and all reported to a single officer (like Krennic in RO.)

I'll give you that, they weren't as weighty. But I did love the opening when they walked up to the homestead with Krennic. It was maybe downhill from there. ;)

Thing is, I'm such a less-is-more fan, (except for that crazy space battle in R1) ... my favourite film from LOTR was Fellowship. I really liked the understatement and mystery compared to the later instalments.

Of all of the LOTR films, Fellowship actually followed the books the best. Each subsequent film drifted more and more. (Although I still loved them.)

Sometimes youve gotta ask yourself what priorities does HT have. They released the SECOND Harley Quinn today. But still no Krennic, Tarkin, Poe etc
