Mine has the stain as well, but maybe not that bad. There are several methods further back in this thread. Use of wash "erasers" for removing stains from clothes.

My Starlord is still boxed up, am moving soon so had a look and added small piece of the packing plastic between the jacket collar and the neck to prevent any further staining. However I probably should try and remove it now when i have a few minutes.

After messing with mine for a bit I can say the tailoring is amazing. The accessories seems exceptionally fragile, and to echo what others have said the jet pack is very poorly designed. I feel like i’m going to break it whenever I touch it.

Yeah, the accessories(as plentiful and cool as they are) are what's making this not as fun a release as it could've been. They're super fragile. That jetpack I was super excited about but now I'm kinda meh on it. I'm afraid to mess with the in transition helmet. I'm gonna try it but I'm not rushing it cause of the overall fragility.

Has anyone attempted to change his shirt? I see NOBODY doing this on any reviews anywhere.

Tried to get alterego for a replacement body because of a red stain spot on the neck. They contacted sideshow but sideshow replied: "They are all like that with some shade or another. We don't have any replacement body. I suggest to use a slightly damp magic eraser to lighten up the color." Damn that sucks! Anyway I decided to keep this despite that coz I won't be displaying him without the jacket anyway. But do you guys have any suggestion on how to atleast minimize the red stain?

Magic Eraser is basically a very fine sandpaper, so it's the equivalent of lightly wet sanding a surface. Not something I'd really want to do for figures like this. Hot Toys really needs to figure out this staining issue.

I haven't noticed the staining on mine like everybody else has. I THINK I don't have one but I'll check again tonight.

Has anyone put this headsculpt on Vol.1 yet? I prefer the Vol.1 pants and shirt so I’m things of doing a kitbash. Thanks!! :)

No, it's compatible. Both the masked and unmasked headsculpts are fixable on the Vol 1 body.

Got mine yesterday unfortunately there’s a red stain on the left neck area. Might have to return this if alterego can’t get a replacement body which is ashame coz this figure is absolutely amazing.:(

How has your experience been with Alter Ego? I'm thinking about rolling the dice to see if I can get a stain-less Star-Lord. :slap

Oops posted the wrong pic but here’s the stain that I’mtalking about. Pretty obvious when the jacket is off!

I got mine today directly from Sideshow, I have the same mark in the same place, it's not too much an issue for me to want to send mine back.
I do have a front inside tab that appears broken on the rocket vest piece. I have the rocket vest on but not tabbed in in the front, it looks okay even though it's not fully snapped on.
Has anyone who put the vest on snapped the front of the rocket vest completely? Does it make a difference in how it looks?

Pretty good experience other than the stain on the neck which is not really their fault. Paid $199 total with the 20% coupon from ebay. Shipping was free on top of that. Quick shipping with extra large box beside the brown shipper. Customer service responded quickly once I told them about the stain. Ofcourse they had to ask sideshow about the replacement coz they pretty much sold out on the starlord to get it replaced. I would return it if I paid full but already saved it on it so I'm fine keeping the figure.

It's really hard to clip the front part of the vest so I just don't snap it fully coz I'm afraid if I push too hard it might damage the jacket. You can't notice it anyway.

It's a secret! It's not attached at all in the front! It's still pretty cool right?!

Thanks for the response. Looks like I waited too long and they are no longer in stock! Oh well, that makes it easier for me then I suppose. Decision made for me!. :lol

That does look really good there Breadstickman! I don't think it really matters when it's on the jacket, but when I tried it on just the shirt, it really needs those front pegs to look right because it fits so loose. It still pegs in that way, but I'm not sure of the hold of that front broken peg.

This isn't the easiest figure to pose about, the short jacket is very restrictive and I feel if I apply force it I could damage the material, the jet pack vest is nerve racking to pull apart and push together, and the exclusive helmet forming piece is a pain in the $$@ to get on the head properly.

It does look fantastic once everything is together though, and the exclusive parts give you the best looking version of Star Lord. The exclusive helmet allows you to show off that incredible unmasked head and the long coat is less restrictive then the jacket. I kind of want to get a second shirt and remove the sleeves so that the sleeves of the jacket have less restriction.
I was also surprised to see that Groot has a magnet in his $$@ so he sticks to the rock solidly. He can also stick to Star Lord's jacket shoulders, but on mine the long coat works better than the jacket.
