This guy is awesome! So much shelf presence and the reason why I think SWs figures are a level above any other line, they simply look a lot more like collectible pieces than they do Toys, which isn’t the case with say Marvel.

Yeah, interesting observation.

Waiting.....Like to give my support to the smaller guys like Timewalker.....and moreso not support SSC and their lazy attitude lately...

Its tough to wait, but look like it will be worth it.

I've said it before, but I believe this Luke Jedi fig will finally be my last purchase from Sideshow despite being a fervent defender and buyer over many years (I have recently bought the e-web, the Han Carb and several Luke Snowspeeders - the Lukes were supposed to be the last.)

There's a combination of things, but that custom section deletion thing was pretty out of touch and uncalled-for (especially given the fact that I sometimes went there to fix the junk heads that SSC delivered, and they take no action against companies like TA who sell mass-produced "bootleg" figs alongside SSC's products) along with the usual suspects: poor accuracy on SSC-designed offerings, noticeably lacking realism on human headsculpts, too-high pricing for something that's never quite at 1/6 state of the art, clunky engineering on some pieces and frustration over shipping times - this Luke being just the latest example.

I'm not saying I won't bite once or twice more if SSC pulls something new out of the hat on a character I really want and HT won't touch, but I think I am finally done with them now that my RP are gone.

What's interesting to me is the heads look almost the same size, yet when the Sideshow came out, even over a decade ago, people disliked the size of it to the body, yet the only proportion difference I see here is HT has proper arm proportions.

I think the HT sculpt is just a touch on the big side but the facial structure and proportions of it are much more realistic than the old SS Luke.

Anyone have a link to those slightly longer neck posts to bring Luke's head up a bit more? All the neck posts I see on eBay look the same.

I’ve seen some people mentioning the lack of length in the neck, but does it really need to be longer? Based on these two images, as well as others, the way the neck looks on the figure seems fine to me.

I don't think so. Watched return before my figure came in.

There's lots to love with this figure...but there's also lots not to love...the sculpt is glorious but is let down by metallic brown colored hair...again!(i'm guessing HT thinks this works better under cabinet lighting)

The overall tailoring is ok...but the tunic is poorly done especially the top half where the bottom hem is left frayed...yes it's hidden but it still looks unfinished and lazy.
And the sleeves on mine were so tight that the light-up saber arm wouldn't fit! (i had to sand the damn arm down in the end!)

My biggest nitpick is the short neck...it throws the whole figure off and gives it an overall bulky look(i have the head sitting higher in the pics below)
I don't have an the issue with the padded under suit and didn't remove it.

And then there's the one gloved hand...sorry one gloved fist...brilliant...not!

But there's lots to love....the sculpt is by far the best Hamill yet..and i love the cloak...it hangs beautifully..and the base is very nicely done and looks great...and the blaster, cuffs etc are excellent :)

I usually don’t worry too much about issues like staining, however after opening this the robe did seem a little saturated and smelled pretty fresh, so I decided to do a soak to test. I used a white plastic bowl and sure enough the water was a pretty significant shade of reddish-brown. So I put in some fresh water and left it overnight and it was still pretty brown after that. I left it again when I went out and I’ll check it when I get home, but there’s definitely a good amount of excess, and I could see it being an issue.

Just FYI for anybody worried about it.

Off topic of the figure, but on the topic of excess dye in robes, if this one is that bad, that’s probably a harbinger to how the black cloak is going to be with the upcoming JL Wonder Woman figure. I want to put the black cloak on her, but I have a strong suspicion that is going to stain like a mother *****er.

Great pics! I agree with everything you mention except I love the color of the hair.
I'm having the issue with the arm as well. I contacted Sideshow about it and have to send a pic in. I'll post my progress as it goes along. I thought about sanding down the arm but it seems to be a difficult step to try and fix the issue.

I've heard that to set dyes you need to soak the fabric in a solution of vinegar and water. Might be the next step.

Lengthening the neck makes all the difference. I didn't do it as much as Matrix but I think I may raise my just a little more than I did.

I posted some pictures on how I did mine. On Tuesday What you do is you pop the tab on the existing head insert to pieces add a little glue Wala collar is not touching jaw line.

Since I just took some images to send to SSC, I though I'd post one here showing how far the cuff on the sleeve is straining when I try to push the light up saber arm through the sleeve:
Hot Toys Jedi Luke Arm Problem 003.jpg

I'm not willing to push it any further, the stitching will definitely break.

Just another reason why I don’t mess with swap out arms. I initially put the LED arm in since that’s the only option HT gave us for a gloved saber hand, but I promptly switched it back to the regular arm being that the hand on the saber arm doesn’t have much range of motion to it, just like any other LED saber arm.

My Luke was the same way. Very tight fit.
It took a while of me trying to wiggle the sleeve over the arm. I did finally get it, but the sleeves could be longer.

The one time I put the LED arm in when I first received the figure, it was a bit snug and I sort of had to gently twist the sleeve side to side downward to work it through, but it was never so tight to where it felt the seam on the cuff was in danger of busting.

Are you guys trying to push the sleeve all the way up past the bicep to attach the led arm?

All I do is slip the elbow through the wrist part of the sleeve then slide it all the way up underneath the sleeve to pop it in. No need to push the sleeve up at all.
