Not sure if anyone noticed but in the product accessory shots Luke's lightsaber arm is inaccurately gripping the saber at its base, which would make him lefthanded. It should be gripped closer to the hilt of the weapon, where his left would be below it. Rewatched some footage last night and the only time he holds it in the left-handed position is when he reclaims (force-grabs) his saber from the the Emperor.

Good eye.

And yes, you'd be correct. Generally when Luke grips his saber with both hands, he does so with his right hand over the left (the right hand on top, closest to the blade). Watched the Bespin duel again because I'm mildly contemplating putting the lightsaber back in my DX07 figure's hands, and he was gripping his saber this way in that duel as well (right hand over left).

Both the Bespin and Death Star duels are just as iconic in my opinion, so it'd be cool to have both ESB Bespin and RotJ Luke in poses wielding his saber. However, I have ANH Luke also holding his saber in the pose when he first received it from Obi-Wan (just as iconic to me), so leaving Bespin Luke with his blaster in hand would sort of break up the lightsaber poses for my Lukes. Haven't decided. :lol

Its kind of like doing The Helicopter.

:lol :exactly:

I was unable to get a PO in at BBTS yesterday as I was at a concert. If anyone is switching to SS to use points/coupon whatever, please PM me, as I would love to take your place. Thank you.

I POd and very excited. I hope the head sculpt stays stable even though it's an idealized perspective. Hamilton has some defining asymmetrical eye shapes that I think are the X factor with this sculpt. That and they are slightly narrow vs Hamils eyes in 1979 and 1982

I'm sure it'll be something HT changes upon release.
I didn't notice that ANH Luke's saber-arm grip is low (i don't own) but he does hold it like that in the iconic Obiwan scene.
"This belonged to your father... sooo don't drop it from any crazy heights or small female Yoda-types may somehow aquire it and horde it away in a cellar under their bar for 40yrs." Wait.. no. That didn't happen.

Yeah, this will make 4 HT Luke figs for me too. Love them all. Can't wait to see the Emperor. One of the advantages of having all four is using the ANH light up sabre for the Besbin BD Luke, it completes it IMO.

Not a fan of the mouth, teeth or chin.

I don't know if it's the lighting but in certain pics he looks like a cross between Mick Jagger and the lead singer from Paul Revere and the Raiders, Mark Lindsay.

Love the costume and accessories though. The three environments for the base is a really nice touch. All he needs is an endor environment, the helmet and camp poncho and he's all set.

Are people really worried about this selling out with that long release date window?

Also since they don't have the Endor poncho in this version, there is still the possibility of a 1/4 version. I forgot about that since Hot Toys has come out with 1/4 Star Wars figures. But I guess the question for me is, do I want a possible 1/4 Jedi Luke with the knowledge that there is no way we'll get a 1/4 speederbike. Plus we probably won't get any of the other heroes from Return of the Jedi in 1/4 besides Luke. So the majority of Star Wars figures I'll get will be 1/6. I would bet some after market poncho and helmet parts will be made anyway like the Batman capes.

I think I'll wait till next week to decide.

Don't forget the Rancor Pit Bone. I still have mine from the Sideshow version but that plus the endor goods and environment would be everything you'd ever need.

Good to see you back! :duff

Agreed on the chin, something off about it.

that means all the poses using non gloved hands (Sail Barge poses) will not be able to use the LED lit lightsaber.
