Well naturally everyone will look out for self interests, those unhappy with it will want it worked more, those happy with it would then divide if changes were made, with some liking it even more with the changes and others wanting it to go back to the way it was.

I have never taken issue with people expressing displeasure with how a piece turns out or wishing it would be tweaked so they could like it, but the one trend that runs rampant on this site, not saying specifically in this thread yet, just a trend in people, is, when a product does not meet their expectations, too many members will talk and act as if Hot Toys or whoever is making the product, is responsible for their happiness and act like they have been betrayed by their dearest friend to not give them the figure exactly how they'd like. That attitude pisses me off so bad, I hate entitlement, it's a disgusting behavior and unfortunately, the world breeds it more and more, I can't change the world but I sure will not allow my son to grow up like that.

The bottom line is, companies make products and we can like them enough to buy or not, we can dream of what could have been, we can hold out for the next effort in hopes of something more to our liking, but no one owes us anything.

:exactly: My sentiments as well.

I once recently heard someone say it's called the pursuit of happiness, not give me happiness.

It baffles me when someone makes a comment like that. Expressing their displeasure with the a sculpt (which of course is fine because they're free to think it's a poor effort just as much as others can think it's a splendid effort) then going on to say that HT won't improve it if the rest of you continue saying how great it is. What are they supposed to do? Say it sucks for your sake just because you personally don't like it and want it to be better? Why would they be disingenuous and say that it sucks if they genuinely think it's a good portrait? It's essentially saying that other people need to change their beliefs and opinions to suit you and your wants.

Like you said, you either like it and you buy it, or you dislike it and you pass. The beauty of it all is that nobody is forcing you to have to buy the product, including the manufacuturer, so if you don't like what you see, then save your money.

Where are these entitlement posts? People love to throw that word around these days.....

I don't think it means what you think it means.....

Well I mentioned that I didn't have specific examples in this thread. While people are expressing complaint, it hasn't gone there yet, but there's plenty of entitlement throughout this forum.

I spoke up simply to try and balance the conversation in here and get both sides of this figure to understand the others' perspectives and guide the conversation constructively, it seemed headed for more criticism of people's opinions than the figure itself.

I thought it was good I preorder it. it`s hard as I noticed to get the actors face right specially when they were younger to look spot on since they aren`t standing there to photograph every single side of there head to sculpt it just by looking at a photos. face sculpting is a hard job to do specially on these two Harrison ford and mark Hamill. have to have the eyes angled right and not higher then the other the nose shape the mouth looking right and so on.

People hate this Luke already. :lol

It always happens. Looking forward to the red-line comparisons and the poor photoshop demonstrations.

Also looking forward to the most severe complainers posting "well I caved" and then showing multiple pictures of their new trophy.

Showing multiple pictures of their new trophy and saying "it looks much better in hand. Best Hamill likeness yet!"

Happens. Every. Single. Time. Just happened in the BvS Wonder Woman thread in the DC section. Big uproar over the production sculpt, now the consensus pretty much is "she's great!" Complete with the "it looks much better in hand" comments.

Surprised there's been no "Mark Hamill's stuntman" posts, unless there were and I missed them. I love my ANH HT line-up but based on some of the users here you'd think that if someone looked at my display they'd have no idea who the characters were and would assume I had the entire cast of Dukes of Hazzard on display or something.

Who is that guy in the Farmboy outfit holding the blue lightsaber? Is that Danny DeVito?

Those pics look great. But this one looks a bit Thurderbirds like to me.

More the posing than anything I think.

I like it , it's just not a perfect sculpt to me. And as far as I have read no one "hates" it or feels HT need to fix it to satisfy their "entitlement" here......so far.

Most people who have slight problems with it still call it an 85% or better likeness. That's pretty high praise of you stop and think about it.

I was hoping for a perfect 10 like some of HT other offerings, but I just do not see that with this one. Mouth , legs and some clothing issues for me keep it from being a perfect offering.

I still am happy it's here finally, and of course it added to my collection.

I feel the same way about Doc Brown BTW.

The one thing I don't mind is that the bare hand is not an ignited arm..If it's like Kylo, the non lit saber can shine just as bright in certain lights .

The tunic was a dream come true..thank you HT

This a great figure... And all the more desirable because of the reasonable price...
I still can't believe that this is the standard we are getting these days, I would never have believed it possible back in the day...

But this quest for perfection is futile...
Sure, get a Jnix head, change bodies, buy a custom outfit, and before you know it, you've spent $500 and it still ain't perfect...

I for one am eternally grateful to Hot Toys and Sideshow for putting a smile on my face every day...

(Except TOD Indy... I want to love him so much... But he just breaks my heart every day) :monkey2

I think this looks awesome, I wouldn't have PO'd if I didn't think it was. And for $229, that's more than reasonable considering you can achieve three different looks/display options with it.

I think the sculpt is about an 85%, which I think is a damn good likeness. In 1/6 scale, I would consider anything roughly 80%/8/10 and above to be a damn good portrait. I hope they don't tweak it at all actually and that this is what we get (though I'm sure final product will probably be slightly softer in detail) because I'm in the "if it's not broken, don't fix it" camp. 85% does leave slight room for improvement, yes, but as I said, roughly anything 80% and above in my opinion is damn good in 1/6 scale. I wouldn't want them tweaking it lest it ends up throwing something off.

Ha that's interesting. Did you know "Tod" in German means dead/death. So I guess that's kind of fitting to a deadpan headsculpt.

But you're right the standard is amazing these days. Have you seen the latest Dr Strange figure pics ? Amazing !!
