Hot Toys : New DX TDK Joker 2.0 Coming

So what are the real news? Joker DX 2.0 will for sure not have a nurse outfit?.... To me that's good news, I just want the Joker with his regular outfit at a good price .. not eBay madness.

Apparently you are correct, no nurse outfit. Christopher Nolan's 'peeps' won't approve of Ledger in that outfit. I'm not sure what they're really doing other than updating the DX 1. Maybe it'll come with a bazooka or something and cost $40 more.

That's the whole point. BB Bats wasn't called a 2.0 because it wasn't a straight out re-release. DX10 isn't being touted as a re-release. I don't have my finger on the Predator pulse, but the Classic Predator kind of sat in between a straight out re-release and a variant (I think). Mk 1 2.0 is a straight out re-release, with an updated paint app and updated TS hs. And a flame thrown in.

Point is, I can't see a release labeled as a '2.0' being anything other than the exact same figure as the original but with a few updates made to the exact same stuff. Updated costume. Updated hs with updated paint app. The set will likely include a unique accessory, but a whole new array of stuff is wishful thinking imo.

Ironically the Tumbler is chaper now than it was when it first came out. I guess that is because all the R&D is already done, so who knows and if they do a straight relaunch the price may not go up that high.

Older collectors will also like the chance to get new PERS heads, if their's broke (or they're scared of them breaking). Even if they don't change the actual outward appearance of the sculpt, I'd be surprised if HT didn't change the internal PERS mechanism to make them more robust, given all they've probably learned since the initial PERS DX01.

Some of us older collectors will also be happy to see newer collectors have the chance to enter the fold and bring fresh blood to the community. Stagnating membership is the death of all hobbyist communities.

Pretty sure MSRP was $185 in the US, though like you said, some places had it for as low as $125-135 when on sale.

I wouldn't be surprised if this re-release was around the $220-230 mark.

I don't think hot toys will ever make a dx figure a convention exclusive. What I don't get is why would they make the 2.0 a DX and not just an mms.

While Sideshow distributes nearly every Hot Toys release these days, a few years ago Sideshow didn't sell the DX 1 Joker, at that time they only sold the DC direct figures, at least that is my memory of it. I bought the DX 1 Joker from Cornerstore Comics for $164.99 or $174.99, one or the other, which was the lowest price I could find.

Yeah, that's what I think at least as far as the purple outfit goes. As soon as I saw 2.0 I knew it would be another purple outfit. If it was going to be the nurse like so many was hoping it would have been it would have been titled Hot Toys DX11 Dark Knight: Nurse Joker or something like that. 2.0 seems to imply a different version of what we already have. I think there is no doubt it will be just that but with different accessories.

I couldn't care less about what accessories it comes with. But a better headsculpt will make me very happy.

I hope they do sculpted hair similar to what they did with the new Thor figure.

And I definitely hope we get nicer clothes. The Nicholson Joker's outfit is vastly superior and it would be nice to have a Ledger Joker with clothes of that calibre.

I had this thread up and walked away from my computer for a bit and my teenaged son, ( who clearly has a twisted sense of humor ), decided to give his opinion. It was deleted, thank god.

As for the Joker, think we'll get real shoes this time, real laces etc.
