Hot Toys : New DX TDK Joker 2.0 Coming

So about 2 years until we see the offical specs and then another 7 or 8 until it's released

plus add another few months of delays b/c of all the avengers and their more than likely delays gets us at aout 3 years before it's in hand

It wouldn't surprise me if you get the DX01 head repainted with rooted hair.

look at the Babydoll figure. simple rooted hair and yet some have the hair parted out slightly off center like it's suppoed to, others have it right down the center and some have it really off center.

If this is gonna have a purple suit, might look kind of odd with a laughing sculpt (like many have suggested it to be.) if you have it in full gear.

Would like a simple, clean joker look. Much like the party scene, or final battle.

You took the words right out miy mouth Zach. I don't really want a smiling or laughing sculpt but I'd be in if it were a second sculpt. I say this because although the older sculpts are nice, HT hasn't really perfected the Ledger Joker sculpt( as perfect as can be at least) Having said that I'd want a more neutral sculpt that could be used for any scene/look etc and then they can do a smiley sculpt everyone is dying for. If they are going to do one I'd like the smirk he's giving in Difabio's sig. That would be a cool sculpt. But like Di said, it's doubtful we'll get two sculpt with how skimpy the DX's have been lately.

Another thing,m and I'm surprised no one brought it up yet, what's up with the 2.0 title?? To me 2.0 is meant to imply an updated version of the same figure they already did, This is why everyone thought it was going to be just like the DX01 but with upgraded sculpt much like the Mark 1. This could be considered a completely different Joker release. Why not Joker DX: Interrogatiion scene or something. No big deal, it;s just a thought.

It's pretty bad that there have been three Joker slots in the DX line now that I think about it.

I see nothing bad with it. I don't understand this "too many batman figures in the DX line" argument I keep hearing. As if those DX figures had anything to do with each other, comparing the Batman figures to the rest... The so called "DX line" isn't complete yet. Slots? Now there's slots? How many are there left? Come on. Don't worry, they'll do DX figures from other movies when the time comes.

It was always stated as a line for "Iconic Characters." And so far I cant disagree with any of their choices for the line. All Iconic to me.

You are repeating what I argued against. What's the problem with so many different Batman themed figures as DX? They are all iconic and they have nothing to do with the rest of the DX figures.

It's the view of this DX "line" I have an issue with, can't really explain it good in english but what I'm trying to say is that you shouldn't be comparing quantity of iconic figures from different movies with Batman theme with the quantity of the rest of the iconic figures that aren't Batman themed.

There isn't a limit to the DX "line" and maybe they are just doing the Batman themed figures now and will move on to something else in the future. The release of a Joker 2.0 was inevitable. Popularity, demand and the fact that the old headsculpts aren't, well, "mind-blowing".

There's a "Civilian Joker" coming but it's anyone's guess if it'll be a regular MMS or MMS DX.

There was already an iconic DX Ledger Joker release. It was the first one.

If they're going to do more why not make them regular MMS figures? I'm sure once this is revealed you could easily take away the PERS and some stupid base and have it be "MMS# TDK Interrogation Joker".

I think you'd have a problem going back in time and trying to convince collectors of 2008 and 2009 that Bank Robber Joker and DX Joker were "meh". Not only because time travel isn't possible but also because people would think you were nuts.

In 2008 and 2009 they were considered top of the line and "mind blowing". How long before "DX Joker 2.0" is deemed sub par or people complain that they missed out and rally for a DX Joker 3.0?

I'm just saying it would look more tasteful if they just made a regular old interrogation Joker. There's really not much separating the line other than the "DX" prefix, the price and some crazy eyes.

Bane isn't iconic and the last DX Batman figure was an oily fiasco. Demand and popularity of an TDK/TDKR DX Batman figure is there, 2.0 or not. Will be interesting to see what HT comes up with.

This is funny. It's like watching a bailing ship in this section. I wonder what thread will be dominating next month. Before last month it was the DX08/09s. Then last month it was the Batmobile.
