SWEET!!!!!!!!!

Looks great. Need some daylight shots of that PL to see the weathering well, but what I can see looks damn nice.

I like the two nicks on the cage!

Thanks WG, means a pantload coming from you Bro! I wanted to show the cage detail and Rip's weathering here (I didn't want to overdo that, so it is touches here and there) but you can see from the darker shots it is grimed up in the right places. Some shots are lighter than others but you'll see more of the PL in the Vid, coming sometime soon. :D

Btw, that is the Rip V1 FML head. She looks more badass when I tilt her head down, believe me...

Thanks. Actually, I'm always detailing more every day so it's not really done, just done better. I'll do a vid after Les' which will help explain how he did his detailing.

I swear my video IS coming! I only had to take my Ma for her second eye surgery in a week this morning. Between doctor visits now...(She's sleeping on the couch now...shhh...) but I hope to get my HOW TO DING vid done and up within the next day or so. Bear with me. I do have a plan for it though. I think you all will like it, and it should be informative.

And Paul, I LOVE what you have done with your's! Looks GREAT! Perfect aging and dirt, Rip looks MAHVELOUS! And the whole looks so much better.
I am going back to my HT Rip head for the video, then that is that.

BTW, YOU did that weathering on Rip? If so, PROUD of you man! :rock
I knew you had it in you!

Ain't this PL just the grandest thing! :D

Video soon! :rock

BTW, how are you guys futzing those straps/belts tighter? I can't get mine to tighten up much. Just tuck and fake it. Anyone have comments on those?

Thanks Bro. First of all, GREAT NEWS ABOUT MA! Now she can appreciate her Darlin' Boy's work even better! :D

I weathered Rip by using a dirt soaked rag, actually used coffee stains, and gently wiped it in some places, using my finger as the weilding tool, and rubbed harder in other areas, collar, upper chest area, so it is real grime. :lol. I have no paint so I tried to be resourceful. The PL was weathered with an assortment of rag dabbing and also using a Q tip, again with real dirt, grime, etc. Best to do the silver nicks first, then grime it up after that, for me anyway. Still have more to do...

I may weather the straps too, they look TOO new. I'll just rub a dirty thumb over them, that's what I did for her jacket and it works great, very natural looking and it takes the sheen out. As far as adjusting straps, just pull them tighter through the harness buckle, they tend to loosen by themselves, but I got mine to stay with the fig.

outstanding work paul!!!!!!

when i have time I'm going to weather mine as well. I'd also like to paint the hose connectors to look more metal, as well as the pistons... just trying to figure out the best paint to use for that.

can't wait for the video Les!!

Thanks Duude, can't wait to see yours Reiny.

Guys, I highly recommend having your Rip Lesterized too, makes a HUUUGE difference, and make sure to check out his upcoming Vid, lots of good stuff there. :D

After that, My Video -- coming soon! :rock

Must...be...patient, lol. This beatie's looking good everytime, nice setup and images Paul. Spoke to Sideshow's CS for follow up, my PL issue's still pending, but the wait should pay off in a better scenario for me so just gotta stick it out, though I do hope I have a working PL by Christmas, that way I and my camera can be busy during my office's shutdown week. "Happy New Year You *****!!!" haha.

Patience... and it will be yours soon I'm sure and thanks Sean...

I think this is actually my fave pic so far... because I/one can almost hear Rip saying...

"Well, I can drive that loader. I have a class 2 license..."

Her pants are much dirtier now. LOL.

Waiting for a replacment is driving me bonkers too. I called and apparently Alter Ego has to wait for Sideshow to send in the replacment. :banghead
What's strange was Mark asking me if I was the one who had an issue with the piston or the Leg. Glad I'm not the only one with problems, misery loves company. :lol

Sucky as it is waiting, a piece this intricate was bound to have units come out with problems, the electronics, the joints, there's a lot of room for thing to go wrong, all in all, it's impressive how few issues have been reported around here.

Sure, but a lot of people are having trouble with the pistons, not that they're broke but there are issues. Same thing goes for the P2 Predator's post breaking on the briefs, they shouldv'e known that there was going to be breakages, they're major design flaws in my eyes.

Ya, a little extra R&D might have found a less prone to issues solution for some of the problems. I'm actually a bit surprised at the manner for powering the PL, I would think a screw shut compartment somewhere would have been wiser, better odds of a strong connection and all.

Judging from the number of complaints posted here (and elsewhere), it appears to be a bigger problem than just a few isolated instances. I would agree with what Screamingmetal said, this was a basic design "flaw" that really should have been anticipated and remedied before clearing the figure for production. There are other issues that should probably have received more attention, too. It may just be me, but I find in some cases that the quality, or at least the choice of plastic used for certain parts, doesn't seem to meet with the amount of stress and/or handling the part will receive in the hands of its eventual owner.

I suppose nearly all of us who post here take their figures out of the box and handle them a fair amount, am I right? Statues and model kits are one thing, but these figures are much closer to action figures, and we treat them as such. We shell out a lot of our hard-earned money for these figures, so I don't think it's unreasonable then, for us to expect these figures to be designed with consumers like us in mind, and to be made strong enough to withstand a certain amount of handling without these frequent breakage problems.

I don't want to be overly critical, but I really hope Hot Toys is listening and will take steps to fix problems like this before they release new items to market, 'cause this kind of thing only undermines the otherwise outstanding reputation their products have been building for the past couple of years.

Has anyone tried giving their Ripleys some superficial injuries?:)

It would be nice to make it more authentic by tearing the shirt, but not until I find a tank top to go underneath.

Not really that strange normally when you get a replacement from SS on anything you have list what is wrong with it and the edition number if it has one.

On a side note I have one of these on ebay if anyone is still looking for one :monkey3

Nice bloody scar wound on your PL Ripley Super Poseable! I like it. I may do that to mine too. I'll refer back to the DVD and see what cuts and bloody wounds she has on her face after she defeats the queen. I don't think she was too banged up at the beginning of their big fight when she first got into the PL. Nice work! :D
