I spoke directly to Mark and mentioned that they could just replace the piece that was defective and he said they can't open a whole new boxed Loader just to replace the one piece. So I doubt they could open the one they're replacing mine with just to test the functioning lights.
Strange because they'd have to send the whole boxed defective Loader back to Sideshow anyways, why not just switch out the broken center pieces with a boxed one they have there that works and send that one boxed Loader back instead? It'd save them a lot on shipping charges.

If they would replace just the center piece, I would've asked that they test it first before mailing it to me.
I'll have to wait for Mark to get back to me on this.

I bought a DCD 13" Flash from Alter Ego and it arrived with broken wings on the head. I asked Marc if I could just pop the head off and return it to him for a replacement, thinking he could just switch it with a good one. Cheap shipping for both of us that way. Nope.....he wouldn't do it. Said I had to return the whole enchilada to get a replacement. Doesn't make much sense to me.

Good luck!

Well, the point is that they have to return the figure to the distributor/manufacturer, and I don't think they can return just a part.

Yeah, I understand that. But why can't they take the broken part you send back to them and attach it to the one that they took the replacement part off of? That way the manufacturer gets back an entire unit (with the broken part) and the customer and vendor don't have to bend over and take it on the shipping! :emperor

Hmmm... yes, I see.
Maybe they just don't want the hassle... maybe there is some policy on the part of manufacturer about such things.
When I asked HT to send me just the replacement for the articulation of the warrior's knee, they asked me to send the whole leg back. Which was already repainted... so I'm guessing they will replace the articulation and send me my leg back. Seems like more effort for them, but that's the way they work.

Damn!
Just got a call that I won't be getting my PL today after all.
Pisses me off no end!

This means that it will be delivered on monday and I'm off to LA on sunday, so no PL until I get back, i.e. friday.

Sucks.
Only good thing about it is that I'll probably have a lot of toys waiting for me next friday, as Bespin Luke, the Ignite Battle Scarred Legionary, DID's Al Ross and a couple of extras for my knights should have arrived. And hopefully my replacement for the warrior's leg.

Oh well.

Simply awesome Les. :rock

How do you get the sweat effect on Ripley-both on her shirt and forehead? She looks much better with your repaint.

Nice paint job Les.

NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You did some beautiful work on the loader too!

Thanks guys. Thanks WG! To get your praises is praise indeed!
I'll try to show more in the video. If I can.
Lots of dingage! Takes a careful hand. Thanks. That is all I did to my loader though. Added some oil stains here and there, may add more to joints and all, but mostly it's done.
Ripley is harder, but didn't take as long. Wet shirt apps and the head repaint. No problem. Been there, done that with her. Just wish she had a madder facial look...*coughs* ahem! Darren! ahem! :D
(poor guy, we bug him to death! )

Thanks though. This thing is COOL!!!!

Boy, that looks great Les. Love the oil stains. I did a bunch of dinging too, not finished yet. Love the horizontal bar scratch. Classic!

It's amazing what just a ding here and a scratch there, does for this thing!
Makes it look so real! The base paint is already so good, that not much has to be done to it.
