To be honest, I'm not sure what to think right now..I just woke up 2 hours ago, need to let it sink in.. That thing isn't Human enough for me to hate it..but I really wish the Skeletal Jockey suit in Alien ws the actual creature, not a suit...

Wasnt the thing in alien the skeleton of a space jockey, that head on the conveyor belt looks the same to me. I just can't imagine that bald guy being one. Would be MASSIVELY dissapointing if it was. I was expecting them to have a really creative "monster". Not some bald guy.

It's not a bald guy. It's not even Human. It resembles a Human, but it's..different..and Biomechanical. It's already been stated that the thing you saw in Alien was just a suit. This is what was under it, obviously.

Im not sure what i feel about the Jockey.

I like how its completely unexpected. Yet, i feel ripped over the last 20 or so years of imagination that was completely wrong about it.

This. It's such a slap in the face. It isnt imaginative at all. Something i definately expected from the directer of alien with giger on board supervising. I guess the creativity dried up somewhere along the line?

Shame.

Because it's a BALD GUY with a slightly larger nose bridge. My knee's tremble with the scaryness of this guy...hahaha. Totally xeno quality stuff right there and he had the nerve to mock the xeno in that interview. And THIS is what he has to wow people with? A bald dude....

A tall guy in a bio-mechanical suit would take a lot of the enigmatic nature of the Space Jockey away. He sort of reminds me of a tall Abe Sapien

The Space Jockey wears a suit. Weather it's that bald guy, or something else, it's actual form, is not what we saw.

What we did see had a chest hole (and presumably a facehugger at one point). I can't imagine they will gloss over that.

I don't like the idea of "HEY we need to cut more money-dough... Think that the something about ALIEN would be perfect! But after meh PREDATORS we need something more original... What, Ridley Scott wanna shoot something about space and aliens? Waaaaaaait a minute...".
It's moronic to shoot prequel for the cult classic '79 sci-fi horror movie, wrong in every way.

Before anyone decides anything wait until you see the movie or at least for a little more info.

I would usually agree for closing the thread or at least give a good stick wagging but bar a few sidetracks the main topic and discussion at the moment is about what appears to be the Jockey and if so its speculation to the future of the prometheus Hot Toys line.

So i think its fairly relevant. As the Prometheus Hot Toy thread is extremely premature by its very nature giving we dont even know what figures we are getting i think its fair to speculate given what information we have just received.

Looks awesome but the Space Jockey in the comics was much different looking. They were about ten feet tall, had an elephantlike trunk, had crosses as pupils, and levitated. But, that was expanded universe, I guess, so they could do whatever they please. It's been a while since I've read them but it wasn't a mask of any sort, as far as I remember.

yeah none of the DH comics series have ever been considered canon by any stretch. hell, most of them aren't even connected to each other.
